Asimov's End of Eternity novel set to travel to big screen
ISAAC ASIMOV'S time-travel classic The End of Eternity seems to have the right ingredients for the big screen - so it's encouraging to hear that it is going to be made into a feature film by New Regency. The movie...

Three Laws Of Robotics by Isaac Asimov
These laws is well known in robotics education. Three Laws of Robotics are a set of three rules written by Isaac Asimov, which almost all positronic robots appearing in his fiction must obey. Introduced in his 1942 short story “Runaround”, although foreshadowed in a few earlier stories, the Laws state the following:Here the content of the [...]

Isaac Asimov's galactic epic Foundation sees a future on the big screen
WITH so many of today's movie projects being remakes, prequels or sequels, it's refreshing to hear that sci-fi author Isaac Asimov's 1951 space saga Foundation is to be made into a film. Foundation, the first volume in a trilogy, tells...

New Line Founders Team up for Asimov’s ‘Foundation’
As Peter Jackson and Co. did with The Lord of the Rings, New Line founders Bob Shaye and Michael Lynne, under their new Unique Features banner, are looking to bring Isaac Asimov’s Foundation series to the big screen. An epic science fiction series, spanning literally hundreds of years and cataloguing the rise and fall of civilizations, [...]

Isaac Asimov and the greenhouse effect.
Yesterday I started reading Isaac Asimov's Foundation. In the first chapters I sensed that the author had an ecological perspective on things so I googled around a bit on Asimov and found this 1977 audio clip from CBC Radio's Quirks and Quarks in which Isaac Asimov tells us about the greenhouse effect and how it could be warming up the Earth. He also explains why we should care. "This greenhouse e

      I, Robot by Isaac Asimov
In these stories Isaac Asimov creates the Three Laws of Robotics and ushers in the Robot Age. When Earth is ruled by master-machines, when robots often seem more human than mankind, the Three Laws ensure that humans remain superior and the robots are kept in their rightful place. But an insane telepathic robot results from a production error; a robot assembled in space logically deduces its superi

      Asimov, State, and Utopia
I’d like to start by apologizing for the title of this post. I just had to somehow cram the Nozick reference in, no matter the cost. A while back, Alex Zalben, writing at SciFi Scanner, posted the following: Find me a sci-fi movie where there is a Utopia, and I will point out the worm in the apple. Every single time we are presented with a Utopian society on film, there is also a corrupt

      Asimov blogs about Spatburgunder!
It makes me so happy to see Eric writing about Spatburgunder. I was giddy when I saw the blog update was Spatburgunder. A wine I have been extolling the virtues for many years. I will say, it might not be everybody's cup of tea, just like Jura wines are not, but if you start playing in this sandbox and start to love it, you will be a very happy camper. From Furst, to Rebholz, to Salwey, to Meyer-Nakel, to Keller, to Kunstler to even Markus Molitor there is a style of Spatburgunder for everybody. So let's see if this blog post by Eric evokes as much conversation as kids and wine.Probably not.

And was Jerusalem builded hereAmong those dark Satanic mills?
