      The Houston Astros won their first game of the regular season last night against the Padres 9-6 in San Diego. Hunter Pence singled in the tying run and Lance Berkman hit a three-run homer as the Astros scored four times in the ninth inning. Geoff Blum, Ty Wigginton and Carlos Lee also homered. Jose Valverde gave up the go-ahead run on a sac-fly in the bottom of the eighth, but got credit for the win.
