I remember seeing “Big Trouble in Little China” in a sparsely-populated theater when it came out. Though the movie didn’t set the box office on fire, it got a lot of play on network TV. I’ve seen this film in whole or in part probably upwards of 50 times. And I still get a kick [...]
Today I reflect on the past 4 years...4 years with the computer scientist in my life..for this great woman their is a great man..and in truth I wouldn't be where I am today without him by my side.
I can't say I am the easiest person to live with..as a matter of fact a few of the guys in my office joke how Louie must be pretty amazing..to put up with me! Little do they know...I fell under his

Juande Ramos has really got his work cut out for him. Martin Jol was sacked after only being able to take Spurs up to 5th (he did that twice) in the premiership table. Ramos would love to be anywhere near 5th in the table. Tottenham are dead last in the the premiership at the moment with no real hope of improvement in sight and having racked up a dismal 2 points from a possible 18
Wall Street is in the hands of Congress. With less than a week before the end of the current legislative session, the heat is on to pass the legislation the financial world needs to survive. If our elected officials fail, we could all be in big trouble.

Life & Style is reporting that Chris Kattan’s marriage of less than two months is already in trouble.
“They’ve got issues that they’re trying to work out,” adds an insider close to the couple, who wed less than two months ago. “It’s not a divorce right now, but they’re taking time apart.”
The magazine also says the [...]

Posted on June 12th, 2008 6:49 amBased on the photo below, there’s little doubt that Sarah Larson got a boob job. (Heidi Montag must be so proud of her!) But there is a debate over whether or not this operation actually led to her break-up with George Clooney. According to rarely-reliable celebrity gossip magazine In Touch, the actor was against any sort of breast enhancement: “George real

At this very moment Xavier is in the throws of his very first tantrum. Sure he’s had little meltdowns before but at 28.5 months this a first. This is the real deal and it came on with a quickness. He wants to go vote again and really wants to go to the park RIGHT. NOW. [...]
Fannie Mae and Freedie Mac are in big trouble and this will cost taxpayers many billion dollars. According to CNNMoney.com:

NEW YORK (CNNMoney.com) — Among the nightmares lurking around the corner for the already battered housing and credit markets would be a meltdown at mortgage financing giants Fannie Mae and Freddie Mac.

Despite falling prices, many first-time buyers left out of the market
First-time home buyers just can’t win.
Many were left out of the market during the housing boom of 2000 to 2005 because homes were too expensive. But now, even with sellers desperate and prices plummeting across South Florida, first-time buyers still [...]

As long as humanity has had taxes there has been tax evasion and for wealthy Europeans the microstate of Liechtenstein has been happy to hide their money for centuries. To be honest I figure the only reason this postage stamp of a Principality still exists in modern Europe is as a tax-haven for the Uber-rich. New Money thinks having a Swiss bank account is something to brag about, but the Old Money of Europe knows better, puts their money in Liechtenstein and does not say a word.Unfortunately for them, somebody else leaked names recently and now this tiny country with more companies than people faces a huge tax scandal linked to the private bank of the Prince: LGT Bank. Depending upon where you live in the world, you might not hear about this on the local news, but this is only going to ge
It appears Fred Thompson is having huge trouble raising money, so much so that he is unable to run ads in Iowa in the runup to the Iowa Caucuses! This is amazing for a candidate thought to be one of the "top-tier" just a few short weeks ago. Here is a post from over at PoliPundit.com detailing the trouble:Just when you thought Fred Thompson was turning things around with 9 days to Iowa, the campaign took a few steps back by announcing they are broke:, not broke, just not enough money to air any TV in the last 9 days before the first caucus in Iowa: When I got a generic fundraising e-mail “from” Fred Thompson campaign manager Bill Lacy last night offering “a quick update” on the effort to get “on the air statewide in Iowa,” I didn’t take it literally. I should have. Fred
The cabbie made famous for relinquishing the drivers' seat of his taxi to Michael Schumacher is now considering offers to sell the Opel mini-van. Since the nine-seater made international headlines for getting a seven time world champion and his family to a German airport on time, it has doubled in value, the newspaper Bild am Sonntag claims. "More than ten people are interested in buying it," the taxi driver, Tuncer Yilmaz, confirmed. "One has offered 63,000 euros, and I need the money - because of the Schumi-Ride I could be in big trouble with the police," he confirmed. Coburg traffic authority chief Kai Holland confirmed to Bild newspaper that he will meet with Yilmaz, because the story appears to be "an offence against the Personnel Transport Act.' Schumacher, meanwhile, faces the prospect of a small fine. "It would be ridiculous to heavily punish the taxi driver after he kindly helped Michael. Wouldn't we all prefer to have helpful taxi drivers?" Schumacher's long-time mana
By now, this isn’t breaking news, but I just heard it. I thought I kept up with hot rod and general car news, but I guess not. On top of that, I’m a big fan of Chip Foose. There are several good blogs that are writing about this story. Basically, Unique Performance has been busted and raided. Check it out:

Unique Performance raided by local police
What a mess! Uniqueperformance.com website is DOWN…
I’ll try to update this story as I follow it. I hope Foose’s name is cleared. Everything I’ve seen or read says he’s a solid guy.
Poor HINDRAF! A lot of things have happened to HINDRAF today. Amazing! First, three of their key figures that also happen to be great lawyers were detained under the horrifying Sedition Act and second, they were slapped with a massive Court Order! You can read all about it on MalaysiaKini folks. Such stories are their top headlines today! Perhaps the government has learnt a thing or two after BERSIH had successfully held their mass rally on the 10th of November and now they no longer have any mercy for anybody! Better watch out, folks! Barisan Nasional is on the rampage at the moment! My friends and colleagues argued that such drastic maneuvers from the government were probably caused by external pressure, perhaps by the British government (British High Commission) themselves. Maybe so but we common people would have no means to confirm that for the time being. Even though I’m not happy with the way HINDRAF fight their cause, I do feel sorry for them but at the same t

American Nutrition is finally recalling their foods containing rice protein concentrate. The recall covers Costco’s Kirkland Signature Super Premium Canned Food, item # 38436, best buy dates of Aug. 21 08 to April 15 of 09.
I identified this company last week on other forums because they were the only pet food company out of Utah and ChemNutra had said one of the five companies they sold RCP to was in Utah. But oh, is American Nutrition in trouble. I predict they will not be able to recover from this one. ANYTHING made by them is going to be suspect.
UPDATE: The ingredient is listed as “rice flour”. Pet Connection has details on how Costco’s recall started.
Itchmo has learned that the recall covers two formulations sold in a single case:
Kirkland Signature Super Premium Chicken and Rice Canned food for Dogs
Kirkland Signature Super Premium Lamb and Rice Canned food for Dogs
American Nutrition says that their products were tested by them, FDA and state officials and mela
That goes in the category of things you never thought you'd say. Oh yeah, I heard similar phrases an awful lot (like, um... every day for 5 years straight) but it was about the piano. Something I never asked to play. Something I was never in love with the idea of. Something I pretty much hated once I found out I had to count aloud and listen to the persistent hammering of the metronome. The sound still haunts me like clocks bother Mr. Captain Hook. (((picture a crazed look and piles of disembodied hair on the floor)))As you might know, several weeks ago my husband and I took the plunge, dug deep... into the pockets of the Canadian equivalent of Uncle Sam that is, and bought our oldest son a guitar. (If you are wondering why the government paid for our son's wicked cool gnarly rockin' sweet sick electric guitar, homeschoolers receive funding here in the great province of Alberta and we had just enough money left from this year's allowance to make the purchase so we went for it
