Bill Clinton left me a voicemail yesterday, asking me to support Barack Obama. The one call on the day before elections was not too bad compared to the daily (sometimes twice a day) calls I was getting from John McCain’s camp, which felt more like a bill collector than a friendly persuasion call. Bill Clinton thinks he understands why Sarah Palin is so popular in the Heartland. On Monday, he shared his thoughts with reporters prior to a meeting (Clinton Global Initiative): "I come from Arkansas, I get why she's hot out there," Clinton said. "Why she's doing well." He went on to explain that her appeal centered on her motherhood, a larger family that those in the “Heartland” could re

What is going on with the Clintons this year? You'd think that after Hillary's Tuzla story had blown over in the press, they'd let sleeping dogs lie. Well, you'd be wrong. As it turns out, Bill Clinton just resurrected this mess on the campaign trail in Indiana. What they heck are they thinking? Do they think us voters idiots?
Former President Bill Clinton said his wife asked him to stop talking about her trip to Bosnia. Clinton told reporters in Indiana Friday, "Hillary called me and said 'You don't remember this. You weren't there, let me handle it.' I said, 'Yes ma'am.'" On Thursday, the former president gave a passionate defense of his wife’s claim about “landing under sniper fire” — just as the damaging controversy was dying down. Bill Clinton said the news media treated her like she had “robbed a bank” and claimed she was experiencing end-of-day fatigue, even though she had made the claim in morning speeches. Sen. Apparently intent on stripping away the last remnants of his positive public image, Clinton opened up to a group of veterans in North Carolina, sharing his feelings on a Clinton / McCain matchup in the general election:
I think it would be great if we had an election year where you had two people who loved this country and were devoted to the interest of this country.
That, presumably, is contrasted by an Obama / McCain matchup, with McCain’s representing the U.S. and Obama representing the Nation of Islam.
Naturally, the Clinton campaign told the public that Bill’s meaning was yet again misinterpreted. He was simply calling for renewed focus on the issues, not “falsely questioning any candidate’s patriotism.”

The first in our three part Spouses In Depth series, Bill Clinton is the perfect starting point. Clinton, the 42nd President of the United States, proves to be a strong part of Hillary's campaign thus far. Bill has held rallies and spoke all over the country in support of his wife's bid for the Presidency. Serving as President from 1993 until 2001, Bill Clinton is a very popular political figure. Thus far in the campaign, he has been widely criticized for his harsh remarks toward Senator Barack Obama, Hillary Clinton's Democratic competition. Under Bill Clinton's administration, the economy soared and unemployment rates drastically decreased. For the most part, life was pretty good during his presidency. Clinton left the White House in 2001 with an impressive 65% approval rating, the grea
