So what do you think I did with the rest of the apples Vern gave us? Well, I made a recipe that I enjoyed from my Nanny when I was younger - apple butter! Brett had never had apple butter, so I knew this was a treat he needed to experience, and what better way to try it than with Vernalicious apples? As some of you know, I'm also quite intimidated by bread making of any kind. I don't know why, as I

It is cutely appropriate, don't you think?I know what you're thinking, all of Arundathi's delicious recipes I could have selected for Taste & Create (and there are PLENTY!!), and I picked biscuits? You see, I love them. I do. And I rarely, if ever, would make them from scratch. I would get those little Betty Crock

Heard from the news this morning that the price for maggie mee is going up next month, about 8 to 10%!! Not only that, biscuits also going to increase price, not sure how much but i guess should be about that percentage as well. As for milo, most probably beginning of june will increase price.I'm not really a maggie mee lover. How much is a pack of maggie mee now? approx 60 cents per packet? If the price of maggie mee going to increase, which means all the maggie goreng, maggie soup, indo mee at mamak also will increase also lar. ~sigh.. As I'm typing from a hotel room in the South I looked over my recipes I have collected and saved in files on my laptop and this one stands out as sounding really, really good right now! LOL. I've got a love of biscuits and about a week ago had some yummy cheddar cheese biscuits with a light garlic butter sauce brushed on top. This recipe doesn't call for the garlic butter but I'd add it as soon as they came out of the oven from baking. Consumers seem to be very easily fooled. As soon as “reduced-fat” appears on a product they seem to fly off the supermarket shelves. In fact: it doesn’t mean you’re being healthy- instead it means increased carbohydrates, and in worse cases- fat-free means increased sugar and chemicals.
But this doesn’t stop consumers. A new report shows that, [...]
Delightfully chewy and crisp, these Anzac cookies are my new favorite thing. I've noted on several posts recently different 'crushes' I'm having for people and blogs. Well folks, I've got to say that the Anzac cookie is my new cookie crush.
Although there is some debate about whether this cookie (i.e. biscuit) originated in New Zealand or Australia, the name 'anzac' is the abbreviation for

Sunday Morning. The four-footeds had raced around in the park for twenty minutes or so, before heading home to doze in front of the fire. We had exactly half an hour to spare before heading out to the Royal Academy to see the Cranach Exhibition - so, time enough to make some almond biscuits to have with coffee before we left. Approximately three minutes to make the mixture, and a further two to pipe the biscuits onto a baking sheet; ten minutes later, and they're done!Yet another way of ploughing into the Egg White Mountain, these biscuits are simple and delicious, and come across as surprisingly sophisticated for the amount of work involved. When first out of the oven, they are quite soft and could easily be moulded to use as the outer form for a charlotte; after a couple of hours, they

Red Lobster used to be one of my all time favorite restaurants. When I was growing up, occasionally during summer break, my parents would take my sister and I to lunch at Red Lobster... I LIVED for those cheddary garlic biscuits that they served. I think could still eat a whole basket if it were placed in front of me. Just the aroma of that buttery, salty, cheesy, garlicky goodness makes my mouth water! We don't visit Red Lobster much anymore, in fact, I can't remember the last time I went... but I still remember those little cheesy biscuits. This recipe is so super easy I'm a little embarrassed to share it! You will LOVE these biscuits. There are infinite varieties on how you could make and serve them. I've served these biscuits with soup, I've made them without garlic to go with breakfast

As I sit here at my desk on Monday, I am reminded that 'life goes on', in all aspects. After the events of Last Thursday at work, the remainder of my team are back to business... as if nothing has happened. Well, except we have less people to do more work. This morning, after I dropped off David at school, I carried on with my morning ritual. That is, until I got home. I was so used to being greeted by Teddi, and when I opened the door from the garage, it was dead silence. Not even my cat was in sight. How is it possible that I miss this dog? I guess the answer is that old saying 'you don't know what you have until it's gone' applies here. Never in a million years would I have expected to be so sad to see her go. For me, I think losing Teddi was an extension of the feelings of loss I've had over the last two years. When we sat with Teddi as the doctor put her to sleep, all I could think of was loss. I whispered in her ear to take care of my babies in heaven. And I cried. I knew it

I look good in BCBG Max Azria clothes. Particularly the dresses. So good, in fact (this is me, tongue in cheek), that I thought I would pack an incredibly cute one for our beach vacation with our favorite college-friends couple, Heather and Jarrod.
This dress is darling, let me tell you. It's a knee-length sleeveless number, in lightweight chartreuse material with a slight sheen that totally compliments the 1960's housewife cut, complete with two open front pockets. Almost like an apron, only smashingly darling, with a fitted waist and A-line skirt. Looks faboo with chunky Bakelite jewelry, finishing off the retro vibe quite nicely. Perfect for a patio dinner overlooking the Gulf of Mexico over drinks and good conversation about how crazy we were in college.
Someone forgot to mention to me that three toddlers would be attending this dinner.
Three little boys, ranging in age from 1-3, do not mix with easily wrinkled, easily stained dresses

A very nice story. Read it and you will learnt something from it.A young lady was waiting for her flight in the boarding room of a big airport. As she would need to wait many hours, she decided to buy a book to spend her time. She also bought a packet of cookies. She sat down in an armchair, in the VIP room of the airport, to rest and read in peace.Beside the armchair where the packet of cookies lay, a man sat down in the next seat, opened his magazine and started reading. When she took out the first cookie, the man took one also. She felt irritated but said nothing. She just thought: “What a nerve! If I was in the mood I would punch him for daring!”For each cookie she took, the man took one too. This was infuriating her but she didn’t want to cause a scene. When only one cookie remained, she thought: “ah... What this abusive man do now?” Then, the man, taking the last cookie, divided it into half, giving her one half.Ah! That was too much! She was much too angry now! In a huff,

Take approximately 3 cups of Bisquik baking mix. Add approximately 1/2 cup brown sugar. Slowly add milk, stirring as you go until the mix is moistened just enough to stick together in dough-y little balls (sorry I'm not more exact; I wing it every time on this).
Form the dough into balls into a size of your choosing and flatten slightly (the dough is very sticky; it's much easier if you moisten your hands with water first). Bake at 425 for about 9 minutes. Here's a picture of the finished product:
These are SO good your family might eat them all before they make it to the table!

Instead of all this ITC took a bold step to hit on these biscuit mammoths making 82% of industry (in 2004)Now the important question at hand is the reason why ITC entered into this product category. Let me enumerate some reason:Food segment is Rs. 550,000 crores (112 b$)6% is FMCG (Branded and packaged) – Rs. 33000 crores In developing markets, the above percentage is as high as 95%. It will lead to dual effect: Increase in base of biscuit segment and Increase in % of branded food categories ITC has a great scope to be a branded player Branded Biscuits industry come out to be around Rs. 4000 crores Increasing at the rate of 12 to 14% yoy Synergies with ITC core competencies (value addition to wheat with Aashirwad Atta brand)Biscuits as a segment p
My Auntie bought me a box of biscuits - 'perfect party food for your dog'. The label said 'reindeer'. They are not made of reindeer, they are shaped like reindeer. I really do not mind what shape a biscuit is, if it tastes good: but They thought the shape was cute.
