A long time ago, in a galaxy far, far away......There lived a man who thought he was wiseUnfortunately, although he thought he was wise, he didn’t live in the same world as us and came up with an idea in 1996, which he changed in 2002 and again in 2004 and yet again in 2006 -to deal with complaints against the National Health Service, thinking it would solve all problems and everyone would be tr

Scientists have just turned on a machine that could forever change the way we think about physics, and possibly even trigger a black hole here on earth. The “Large Hadron Collider” (or LHC) is the largest and most complicated machine ever created, costing nearly 6 billion dollars, and taking 25 years to build. It is 17 miles in circumference [...]
Black Hole SEO employs a technique that causes the normal laws of Google Physics to break down. Link juice flows into a massive body, but can never escape. When employed on a massive body, it tends to dominate the SERPs. A black hole site is created when an tier 1 authority site ceases to link out to other sites. If a reference is needed, the information is rewritten and a reference page is
Carrying his bag, Gibson was ready to leave for his work. He stopped at the door and turned, seemed to be his usual practice. Stella came from kitchen, went to him. Going closer, she tightened his tie. They shared a tender look.
“ Don’t wait for Lunch. I am not sure, when I will be able to make...” Gibson said.
They kissed and he walked off.
When Stella came back in house, she realized th
Daniel, around 22 years of age, a fashionable, skittish guy, was waiting for Suzan sitting on his bike. His Bike was continuously roaring and omitting smoke.
Daniel stared at Suzan, as he saw her rushing out of the house. They shared a tender smile. As she approached, Daniel buckled the helmet and swiveled the accelerator pressing hard his left foot on the break.
When Suzan was about to sit,
A car was running with speed on a road. Jacob was driving the car and Stella was sitting next to him. Car speed through the traffic, taking sharp turns. While looking ahead she stole a look at him. As he looked back at her, she averted and looked straight ahead again. While looking ahead she went on remembering the recent incidences and her recent memories...

It was a glorious morning in the small colony, nestled in the greenery. The Sun was rising. Atmosphere around the colony was filled with a freshness and enthusiasm, sweet chirping sound of birds added melody to it. Tall trees in and around the colony were swaying with a chilling breeze.
Few pedestrians were out for morning walk. Some residents were jogging and few running bicycles seemed to be
It was an evening. A huge old castle stood beside the road, surrounded by the dense trees. Sun had just set in the west and there were still its signs visible in the sky. There was a huge open space in front of the castle, and on the other side of the open space, there were dense trees. A gust of air flowed wildly and with the breeze the trees started swaying. Just next to the castle there was a

A black hole is a region of space in which the gravitational field is so powerful that nothing, not even light, can escape its pull after having fallen past its event-horizon. It is now believed that at the center of each galaxy there is a super-massive black hole that is millions to billions of times heavier than our sun. The massive black hole captures nearby stars and drags them into a swi
Hubblecast 15: Black hole in Omega Centauri Video sent by spacetelescope_org For astronomers, Omega Centauri has been an outcast amongst globular clusters for a long time. A new result obtained by the NASA/ESA Hubble Space Telescope and the Gemini Observatory provides a surprising explanation for Omega Centauri’s peculiarities.
Astronomers get closer view of black hole jet
While we may never know what it looks like inside a black hole, astronomers recently obtained one of the closest views yet. The sighting allowed scientists to confirm theories about how these giant cosmic sinkholes spew out jets of particles travelling at nearly the speed of light.
Ever since the first observations of these powerful jets, which are

Has you might imagine there are several sizes of black holes and this one besides being the smallest ever found still digests everything around him because of the huge gravitational force that even draws light into it.

The word "power" is used in physics to denote the rate that work is done over time. It has the units of (energy per second), and so is appropriate for describing the rate that energy is radiated by an astronomical body. The Sun, for example, emits energy at a rate of about 4 × 1026 Watts (that's a 4 followed by 26 zeros). This is called the Sun's radiant power. Black holes, however, hardly emit any radiation, so their radiant power is nearly zero. Now the word "power" is used in everyday speech to mean anything that is fast or strong. This use of the word may have nothing to do with the rate that energy is emitted. People will use the word "powerful" to mean that the gravity of a black hole is very strong when you are close to it. In other words (in informal speech) a black hole has very

Sen. Chuck Schumer (D-NY) said thousands of families here could wind up losing their homes by Christmas and become too deeply in debt to ever buy another home. Schumer said the latest data showed that Queens is suffering the highest foreclosure rate in the city, according to court actions filed in the city's courts to strip homes from delinquent mortgage payers. Queens foreclosures in the third quarter jumped 69% from a year ago. The boroug
Once the antimatter (which has mass) falls into the black hole, it no longer matters that it is antimatter insofar as the hole is concerned. The exact nature of what happens to matter once inside the event horizon is an open question (and one that is, by definition, unobservable and thus guidance to theoretical modles by experimental results can not occur). However, let's just for the sake of argument say that somehow the original matter "survived" in some form reasonably akin to regular, outside-the-event-horizon matter. Then, perhaps, inside the event horizon, the matter and antimatter do react and turn into pure energy (gamma rays). The total mass/energy is still conserved, so that from outside the hole's event horizon, we see nothing different because the hole's total mass/energy does not change. Nor can we ever tell if the reaction took place, because the gamma rays can not escape the event horizon any more than the original matter and antimatter could.
Huge stellar black hole bewilders astronomersComputer models say it's not possible, so astronomers are scratching their heads in bewilderment over a newly discovered stellar black hole that weighs in at 16 solar masses, about six solar masses larger than theory predicts.

black hole black hole (blàk hÖl) noun 1. An extremely small region of space-time with a gravitational field so intense that nothing can escape, not even light. 2. A great void; an abyss: The government created a bureaucratic black hole that swallows up individual initiative. Black Hole Black Hole, theoretical object of extreme density and with a gravitational field so strong that nothing, including electromagnetic radiation, can escape from it. It therefore appears totally black. In 1994 astronomers using the Hubble Space Telescope found the first convincing evidence that a black hole exists. They found that an object of 2.5 billion to 3.5 billion solar masses must be present at the center of the galaxy M87. The black-hole concept was developed by German astronomer Karl Schwarzschild on the basis of German-American physicist Albert Einstein's theory of general relativity. According to general relativity, gravitation severely modifies space and time near a black hole. Time slows down
Question: How does gravity get out of a black hole? If gravity is mediated by a particle, say graviton, and the particle is subject to the usual limitation that nothing can travel faster than light, how do gravitons get across the event horizon? The part of the gravity of a black hole that is due to stress of space time outside the event horizon can certainly be mediated by gravitons without them needing to exceed the speed of light, but that just postpones the question: Why is space time stressed outside the event horizon, if gravitons cannot escape from it? Do they perhaps escape by Hawking-Penrose radiation? That does not seem right, because the intensity of Hawking-Penrose radiation decreases with increasing mass of the black hole.---------------------------------------Like I have said before, gravity and quantum mechanics have yet to be reconciled, and I think your question points out one possible place where reconciliation maybe difficult. I am sure there are resolutions fo

Item:Another blast(er) from the past. This is a mold taken from one of the blasters used in Disney's "The Black Hole"(1979). Remember that one? I wouldn't be too surprised if you don't. This was Disney's first movie to get a PG rating. One of the things I remembered about the film was the cool blasters used by the heroes. They had a kind of double over/under look to them, as you can see in the picture. I also seem to remember the body count being high for a live action Disney production, which explains the afore-mentioned PG rating. Auction ends:Mar-04-07 17:16:36 PSTAuction link:Blaster Auction
