I can hardly believe that 2008 is coming to an end and in less than 2 days' time, we are into a new year. I haven't been listing down any goals like last year but there are a few things that I'd like to achieve in 2009. Looking back, I'm once again thankful to God for a blessed year and for being there amidst the storms and trials of life. Life is never a bed of roses but it's comforting to know t

A Christmas spent alone can be a pitiful thing when the neighbours are roasting the turkeys and the laughter of gift exchange ring so loud from the windows next door. While Christmas is about the diamonds and luxury gifts for the rich and famous, it’s really more than just these glittery and materialistic stuff.

Often times we tend to let the blessings in life go by unnoticed. This is not an intentional thing. We are often so busy with life that the little blessings in life simply pass by unnoticed. While having extra time this week to rest and having nothing to do but sit and enjoy my newest child, I have been able to spend time reflecting. There are so many ways in which the Lord has blessed me that if

A day curled up in bed sounds lovely - so lovely, in fact, that you've wished for fervently for months - until you're forced into it by some nasty hobgoblin of a chest infection, some vile viral force that squeezes your lungs and throat and holds your aching body to the mattress and pillow and forbids you from enjoying for even one millisecond the fact that you are curled up in blankets in the mid

What is a blessing? A blessing is a gift from God, and can also be a prayer that asks for God's care.St. Francis feast day is this coming Saturday, October 4. Counting your blessing is one good way of lifting up your spirit especially when you’re down and troubled. It’s more than re-energizing those rustic neurons in your brain that needs lubrication. I have had a very bad day today. Things are just not getting any better. Everyday is a little worse. Yesterday my keys were stolen at church. A Psalm for Gaia
The Earth is my mother, I shall not want.
She nurtures me in green pastures;
she freshens me with flowing waters.
She restores my body and awakens my soul.
Although I walk in the shadow

I will not fear death,
for the essence of life is within me,

As I've mentioned before, I love to read blogs. In all honesty, I think it is satiating the need to read books, which I haven't been able to do since the baby was born. I loathe being interrupted and well, babies don't much give a damn about that.So as I was reading today, I was inspired by a couple of my fellow bloggers to count my blessings. First by Jaime, whose blog is primarily about her prem
Come, Thou Fount of Every Blessing
By: Robert Robinson, 1758
Come, Thou Fount of every blessing,
Tune my heart to sing Thy grace;
Streams of mercy, never ceasing,
Call for songs of loudest praise.

Sung by flaming tongues above.
Praise the mount! I’m fixed upon it,
Mount of Thy redeeming love.
Sorrowing I shall be in spirit,
Till released from [...]

My contribution to this edition of Blog Your Blessings Sunday is the blessings of prayers. I've read that prayers said by others on your behalf are much more powerful than the prayers you pray for yourself. And one of the reasons this may be true is because there isn't any subconscious self-sabotage happening when you pray for others.
I've been blessed BOTH ways: having the opportunity to pray

I was on a radio show this morning with two other industry experts.
