In a decision that will affect the lawyers specialising in Sales Tax laws as well as former Sales Tax officers' who work as sales tax practitioners, Bombay High Court has held that only Chartered Accountants (CAs) can audit and certify accounts for traders. Hitherto, traders had to hire only sales tax lawyers or former sales tax officers as advisor's in tax matters. But a recent amendment to Maharashtra Value Added Tax Act made it mandatory for traders with sale of over Rs 40 lakhs to get their accounts audited and certified by a professional CA. The amendment specifies that only a CA can audit the account. Nagesh Kukunoor’s latest offering, Bombay to Bangkok, is a comic caper which has been very well crafted indeed. The film has a kind of freshness to it which is very refreshing.Bombay to Bangkok is no great story where stories are concerned but it is Kukunoor’s treatment of his subject which makes it so very watchable. His choice of actors, the quirky characters that they play, and the at-times-obvious and at others tongue-in-cheek humour, is what really makes this film work. And of course, the ridiculous situations that the protagonist finds himself in. He does work with a few clichés here as well, but there is still a twist that he adds which makes the characters memorable. The best of all is that Kukunoor never lets the comic flavour go out of hand and descend into the very slapstic

However, he loses the bag of money in the chaos. In Bangkok, his world is turned upside down at a bar where he bumps into the lovely Jasmine (Lina Christianson). The only problem is that she is Thai and he can't understand a word she says. However, the next day Jasmine turns up desperately in need of a doctor. Shankar posing as a doctor along with his goofy Sardar buddy, Rachinder, jumps into this whirlpool while Jasmine soon gets pulled into his bumbling adventures while running away from the Don & his henchmen.
