Beautiful and correct mare, barn name Missy - excellent mother, easy breed (bred via live cover for first foal - very sensible), easy delivery. Mare has a gorgeous neck and shoulder and is well balanced. Nice foal with good bone and great hip and shoulder. Caught on first cover and delivered in the field at feedtime (so much for foal watch!). Kind mare, gets along well with other mares and geldings. Prefers 24X7 turnout. Excellent to work on for vet, farrier and grooms. Is pasture sound on an old coffin bone hairline fracture - stepped on a harrow spike that was buried the dirt on the track - did race after the injury, but will be slightly off without shoes. this colt has some grand Stonewall breeding up close- his dam is by Stonewall's Main Event and out of a Private Contract mare( full brother to Wing Commander). Baker and Deborah are a breeding pair of donkeys. Baker is an approx. 27 yr old jack from the BLM (wild burro program). He was rounded up at a late age - 23. We've had him for 3 yrs. He isn't a in your pocket type of donkey but he isn't agressive either. Deborah is a domesticated donkey. She's had two babies since we've had her. Her last baby was in April 2006 - we didn't breed her for this year. She should be pregnant for next year. I am not a dog breeder and I do not want the responsibility that goes along with it. I am a firm believer in spaying and neutering dogs. Just go to any shelter across the country and you can see why. I am also not a big fan of conformance breeding; just look at an AKC registered Labrador retriever or Border collie to know that breeding for looks is ruining many breeds. However, I will say that I think that the majority of these breeders do try to place their puppies in good homes. I have two JRTCA registered dogs and they are great dogs. Nevertheless, on the other side of this issue, you have people that have no idea what they are doing and just because they have a piece of paper from a breed organization, they think they are going to breed the next champion. I think that many of these people think there is money to be made by breeding but unfortunately, many of these dogs can be found in shelters.
