Ford's folding hardtop Focus model has received a face-lift in time for the Geneva Motor Show. The changes are mostly cosmetic with new front end styling and an updated interior. Engines remain the same with 1.6 and 2.0 litre petrol engines as well as a 2.0 litre diesel. The convertible roof is also unchanged as an efficient two-piece folding hardtop.The Focus Coupe-Cabriolet is built on Ford's behalf by Pininfarina at their Bairo plant, near Turin in Italy. Despite requests from US drivers it remains only available in Europe. Audi has done well with Lucire’s annual Car to Be Seen in, being its inaugural winner at the turn of the century. And its latest model, the A3 Cabriolet, could fare well when it hits streets in February 2008 in Germany.
It’s more cohesive in appearance than the A4 Cabriolet, which I had the pleasure of driving in March. The A4 I had was the car assigned to Audi marketing manager Rachel Jones, so I felt rather privileged—especially as I was putting ks on to it before she could.
When I was in Christchurch testing the S5, I was pleased to note that the boss at the city’s Audi dealer, Archibalds on Manchester, Eric Swinbourne, was a fan of compact cars, especially the A3. We shared a view that it was a lot harder making a decent small car than a decent big one, in terms of packaging and cost. And he was enthusiastic about the A3’s arrival—and I can see why.

The much anticipated Audi A3 Cabriolet has been announced and will see it's public launch at the Bologna Motor Show. Apparently focusing only on the European market the A3 will be available with a choice of 2 petrol and 2 diesel engines, all cars being front-wheel-drive.The compact four seater comes with a power operated fabric folding roof giving excellent luggage space and versitility. In fact, the Cabriolet even has folding rear seats so that the luggage space can be maximised whether the roof is up or down. The roof can also be operated at speeds up to 30 km/h.It will be interesting to see how the Audi compares to BMW's 1-Series when they reach our roads in the summer.

Tooling of the factory started in 2006 at a cost of 5 million EUR. Despite the rumors, Audi didn’t show off its X3-fighter here in LA. Instead, the quad-ringed quattro folks pulled the curtains on a drop-top version of the Cross Coupe Quattro concept it originally debuted in Shanghai. Designed by the automaker’s studio in Santa Monica, CA, Audi maintains that the Cross Cabriolet Quattro concept is distinctly American in its styling, with a jacked up ride height, elongated wheelbase and retractable soft-top.
As mentioned previously, power comes courtesy of a diesel mill putting 240 HP and 369 lb.-ft. of torque through all four wheels. Audi says the Cross Coupe will make it to 60 in 7.2-seconds, and if you tap the “Drive Select” option, fuel economy is boosted by an additional ten-percent.

Per onorare l’arrivo della stagione estiva la gamma della Jaguar XK Convertibile, si rilancia nel segmento delle cabriolet di lusso con una nuova versione entry level: 3.5 V8 da 258 Cv.
Questo “piccolo” propulsore, al momento ad appannaggio della sola versione cabrio, è stato introdotto nella gamma con l’obiettivo di soddisfare le richieste di una parte di clientela europea che si è schierata a favore di una soluzione meno costosa, per prezzo e costi di gestione, senza però sacrificare troppo le prestazioni. Questa opzione infatti sarà disponibile solo in Germania, Belgio, Svizzera, Austria e Portogallo (oltre che in Italia) ed entro la fine del 2007 arriverà il listino anche la versione Coupè equipaggiata con il 3.5 litri. I wouldn’t mind pushing this car, the 2008 Porsche 911 Turbo Cabriolet has a twin-turbocharged flat-6 engine that produces 480hp @ 6000rpm and 460lb-ft of torque @ 1900rpm-5000rpm, its 0-60mph in only 3.5-seconds. This open version of the 911 Turbo only weighs 150 lbs more than the Coupe, the difference is caused by the reinforcement of the convertible body and automatic expendable rollover protection behind the rear seats, which isn’t a bad cost, check the video out after the jump.
