If you are like me, this is a weakness of yours too. I digest way too much caffeine each day. I probably have at least six or more servings each day. More than I should consume in several days. Caffeine is the world’s most popular mood-altering drug. It’s also one of the oldest: according to archaeologists, man has been brewing beverages from caffeine-based plants since the Stone Age.

Participants consumed the caffeine equivalent of four small cups of coffee in two pills (500 milligrams), one pill in the morning and one sometime before 1 p.m. On another day, participants were given placebos. A recent study into the effects of caffeine seems to indicate that the risk of some skin cancers can be reduced by consuming moderate amounts of caffeine. The mechanism or trigger appears to involve skin cells that are in a precancerous stage due in part to overexposure to ultraviolet radiation. A caffeine pill!!! One little yellow pill, the equivalent of 4 cups of coffee, made all the difference.I didn't realise how dependent I was on coffee until yesterday. Although I sometimes have headaches if I don't drink enough coffee, I can usually manage without, and I don't seem to see any noticeable improvement or difference before and after I have my morning java. But now that I know how good it is for me, and how it improves my davening and thinking and makes everything more meaningful, I'm going to have to make sure I am fully dosed at all times. For the first several months of the brain tumor journey, Lou would wake up not knowing what had happened. I always stayed in bed until he woke up because the awakening was always awful.
