The "debate" about political correctness often descends into nonsense, and I don't think the term itself is very useful. However, I find it interesting and revealing when the media uses euphemisms to make the Bush administration's conduct sound more benign than it actually is.
An example yesterday: the Associated Press refused to use precise words when describing recent news (not really "news" to most who have followed this) about high level Bush administration officials, including Vice President Cheney, approving the use of torture.
