A Lifehacker Australia reader writes in with a tale of woe involving forgotten car keys, but with a surprising ending involving a laptop and a helpful locksmith.
Basically, Mark’s overseas girlfriend, who had his car keys, sent him a scanned picture of the lost keys in question. Since standard keys are often made with just a [...]
Next time you throw a party use markers intended for window art to mark up the glasses.

OMG! I love Banksy's sense of humour!!! Go check him out, here. PS: Oh, all this gleeful ranting is giving me a headache. May I relate something nastier to balance things. All week, I've been avoiding some people who've just returned from an overseas trip. It's not that I am afraid that my (half-hearted + solicited) travel recommendations failed to satisfy their needs... it's really that, I am so

Let's talk Writer's Block. As a public service to you, the CDP Reader, I absolutely refuse to force an essay out just because I feel I'm due for one, nor will I write a sub-par essay on Tuesday when I feel I can turn it into an awesome one by Friday. As you may or may not have noticed, I've been hit with an ever-so-slight bout of Writer's Block, and until it decides to run its course, I'm left to s

Just saw this in the paper..."A new study has revealed men's sperm quality turns out to be a good indicator of his brain power."Should we really be shocked by this? After all, such research is done by clever people. And if these clever people found that being smart meant you had soggy sperm they'd just keep it to themselves. They're not stupid.Tests showed men who scored high on a battery of in
It takes a genius to whine appealingly. - F. Scott FitzgeraldI am no genius. I am oft clever, but never ingenious. People will occasionally confuse the two. I am here this morning to dispel the similarities and underscore for you exactly how cleverness is not necessarily intelligence. Again, I repeat, I am clever. Jane Ellen and Tim have been talking about scripture and the economic situation most

Ford Motor Company recently announced an “SFE” - or “Superior Fuel Economy” - package for the upcomming 2009 F150. While Ford touts this package as evidence of their commitment to “unsurpassed fuel economy,” we think this package is more of a marketing ploy than a true product for fuel misers. Here are the details:

The Israelis are very very clever. But they lack the required pea sized brain to see they will lose their country in a war
They brutalise the helpless, and are shocked to see what the strong can do. Their lackeys in Jordan, the West Bank and Egypt, are nothing more than neutralised people, or bought out people.
And they engender a false sense of security and ability. Now the Israelis are not

Above is a picture of a cardboard cover in a gift bag instead of tissue. I recently saw a gift like this and thought it was such a clever idea. At the top of the cover it had a slot to place a card. To me the design had everything, form and function. It covers the gift better, keeps the bag's shape, and prevents the card from getting lost in the tissue. Simple directions below to make a gift

Take my butter-softening method, for example. I like to bake a lot, but it's often spontaneous, meaning that I don't have time to let my butter or margarine soften at room temperature for 30 minutes. No problem! There's always the microwave. And if the microwave is occupied, well, I have another trick up my

Anyone with a lick of sense will tell you that once airlines charge for a second bag, more and more passengers will start carrying them on board, adding to the sea of already overcrowded storage space. But it doesn’t have to be that way. James Wysong explains.

Creative Ways to Reuse "Disposable" Items [Clever Uses] We asked earlier this week what disposable items you had found clever re-uses for, and the answers are in. Not surprisingly, some of you have some pretty crafty uses for household goods that usually end up at the curb. From CD-R spindles to corks, twist-ties to tissue boxes, lots of supposedly one-use items can save you money, free up space, and be seriously handy when the need arises. We're surprised this hasn't been though up before, which means it probably isn't as simple as it sounds. MIRA's got a new plug-in hybrid in the works that skips the whole plug aspect. Instead of plugging the whole car into an outlet, you can pull out any of the three battery packs in the trunk and hook 'em into the wall. That means the car doesn't have to have direct access to a plug to be able to juice up, you just take the batteries to where the power's at and commence charging. They're calling the system H4V, and are powering the unit on lithium ion phosphate batteries. MIRA expects the retrofit to an existing car to cost about £2000 (around $3950 US).Read | Permalink | Email this | Comments

RSShugger is yet another blog directory I have found. It's not Web 2.0 -- it's pretty old school and refreshingly simple. Hey not everything has to be a widget. Rsshugger is not huge yet but I predict they'll grow. They request an honest review, so here it is: The usability issues I see is that 1) the control panel link is not a top tab. It's up at the upper right ONLY and I had to look for it a little. 2) sometimes it's not spelled out what's going on and the verbiage leaves the casual reader in the dark. I can imagine what the backend of this looks like and figure it out, but to most people the back end of a website is a mystery. 3) when you submit your blog feed it isn't at all obvious that anything happened because it reposts the same page. And another thing is that t

Not saving was okay, people believed, because stocks and homes were rising in value. Tapping home equity made sense because rates were low and the interest was usually tax-deductible.
