Well, here we go again! Actually, I think I’m doing okay taking collie rescue slowly this time. Only one collie at a time, and I’m not overwhelming myself or my family, human or dog. However, both Chase and Levi already have let us know they don’t like Gus one bit. Gus is [...]

If you thought "dog dancing" was just for women and their dogs and had to include actual dance moves, you'd be wrong. .....Country of Origin: The ‘Border’ in ‘Border Collie’ refers to the breed’s origins on the borders of England and Scotland. In 1873, the first sheepdog trials were held in Britain to test a variety of sheepherding breeds with different behavioral and physical characteristics. One entrant, Hemp, impressed all with his ability to manipulate sheep through his intense glare rather than wit
There is little resemblance between the working "collie" of the Scottish sheep-herder and the elaborately furred, slender faced, bench- dog now so popular. The broad-skulled, rather neglected looking "shepherd dog'' of our boyhood, with his friendly, democratic manners (or lack of them)would get short shrift now at any show or gathering of the elite, while of all dogs his handsome, richly frilled
this is my collie, leona. see how pretty she is?i took her to petsmart for a bath and a "trim" and this is what i found when i picked her up. i gasped and almost started crying. the woman was actually proud as she said, "she sat very still as i shaved her. oh, and i used the #7 blade on her." i don't even know what that means! she looks just like one of those wild animals thought be half dog/half
Sheltie Rescue has a beautiful two year old Collie-boy, just neutered, who’s very, very handsome, assertive, and a great agility prospect. He’ll soon be listed on SheltieRescueUT2.org.

We here at Utah Collie Rescue are limited by the lack of foster homes we have to help the collies. Unfortunately, we don’t have any foster homes right now.

PLEASE SEE IMPORTANT UPDATE - 6/27/08 BELOW!! Great News!!
I received this just this morning and thought it was important to help get the word out on this individual. With so many reputable and hard working rescuers out there, people like this give them a bad name! Don’t let them get away with it! [...]
I started another dog painting today. This is drawn onto the gessoed mat board with my watercolor brush and Ultramarine Blue paint. We had 7 inches of snow the other day, and the power company still hasn't got our lines fixed. We're running the generator and glad to have it so we don't lose the meat in the freezer or the groceries we just stocked into the refrigerator. Our electricity worked until
Last Sunday was not only an inspiration for my equine art but turned out to be quite inspirational for my canine art as well. The show brought back vivid memories of our beloved Border Collie Bess. (Working sheepdogs were present and were just as keen, responsive and sharp as I remember our wee Bess.) Reflecting on those memories, I came to the conclusion that I am clueless about the history o
If you are familiar with that dog “Lassie” from the popular TV series of the olden days, then that is the dog collie. Of course, not every collie can be as strong and awesome as the famous “Lassie” but you will find out that this dog breed can be a great family pet dog.

A regional Amber Alert was canceled before being issued Tuesday when it was discovered that a border collie had rounded up 15 kids from the Kiddie Kare Kamp, a Slope Oak day care center for young'uns, and herded them into the back yard of 54-year old Mavis McCluskey, a widow woman what lives over on Garfield St."I was listening to the news on KROK and waiting for the Swap Shop show to start o

From the silly season at work department... Thanks to Richard Henry for the tip! Collie Buddz @ Mohawk on April 20th with Grimy Styles and Zeale 32! Just in time for the Austin Reggae Fest!-----You know that time of year when work becomes silly season?!? For us, it usually happens at the end of our product release where people are scrambling to close things down and the end date is approaching, that's when people start running around like chickens with their heads cut off. Step back for a second and you just laugh at the whole situation. Obama was right it's silly season!More info:Collie Buddz (born Colin Harper August 21, 1981 in New Orleans, Louisiana) is a reggae and dancehall artist from Bermuda, best known for his single "Come Around".In 2006, Collie Buddz signed with Sony BMG. The people at Dogster have no clue about Border Collies. In one of those "answer some questions about yourself and we'll tell you what cliché you are (replete with photo and code so you can advertise our website for us on your page)" quizzes, they decided that the Border Collies of the human world are: Bill Gates, Bill Clinton, Martha Stewart, and Barbara Walters.GAG! Not a single one of those people says Border Collie to me.Bill Gates is super smart and a workaholic, certainly Border Collie traits. But he's awkward, anti-social, and a nerd. While Border Collies will certainly turn down playing with other dogs at the dog park should you present them with the "job" of playing fetch, they're hardly anti-social. Nor are they in any way awkward or weak or nerdy.Bill Gates made his fame by ridi
The Webkinz Collies is a stuffed animal that comes alive online in webkinz world. It is energetic, faithful, hard working and this pretty animal sums up all the best features of this cool collie. The collie is a herding dog, so it loves organizing parties and gathering large groups of friends to play with. If you are looking for a pet that loves having lots to do than adopt a cool collie...
As you may or may not know, I started Utah Collie Rescue, Inc., at the beginning of 2007. I have been doing dog rescue for about 10 years, probably more like 11 or 12. I’ve mainly been fostering, I love to foster and help out the dogs that need a place to stay [...]
I haven’t posted in quite some time… mainly because we haven’t had much to report. We are still looking for a home for Tony, and we have been getting some help from CAWS to try to find a home for him. We do need to find him a home, a good home, soon. [...]
'Snow Ball' - Border Collie in watercolour 3.5" x 2.5"
We had our first snow last saturday, and glorious sunshine which meant everyone was able to go out and enjoy it - even the dogs :) It was completely gone the following morning, but apparently if it disappears that quickly it will return...Those of you who have been buried in the stuff all winter may wish yours would go too, but we would
Australian actor (in America) Heath Ledger was found dead today in Mary-Kate Olsen's New York apartment. And why, you ask, would a blog about Border Collie controversy and news be covering the death of an actor?Well, because Heath Ledger is a border collie, of course. Well, at least according to the book Men are Dogs: In the Best Possible Sense by Molly Hewitt. In addition to having a "fairly broad skull, soft flowing mane that frames the face, gentle eyes that see more than they let on, and broad muscular hindquarters," I suspect that Ledger's role as a bisexual cowboy who spent a summer herding sheep in Wyoming played a large part in his selection as "Famous [Human] Border Collie."Sheeple will note that since Ledger is a pretty boy, was from Australia, and was only acting at herding shee

We here at Utah Collie Rescue just want to wish everyone, human, collie and other, a very Merry Christmas. We hope Santa brings the dogs get lots of bones and pig ears, and fun suffy toys to pull the stuffing out of. And we hope Santa brings the humans lots of chocolate and techie tooys and Danze fauctes to fix up their kitchens with.
Most of all, we hope the rescue dogs will all find homes and be loved, and have soft warm beds to sleep on.
Today we are taking it easy and all the collies are chewing on rawhide bones and playing in the snow.
Merry Collie Christmas everyone!
Well it’s going to be a fun collie Christmas at our house this year. Even Chase, our pretend collie (he’s border collie doesn’t that count?) will have a great time.
We have our tree up, and it is dog safe. Too many Christmas decorations can be dangerous for dogs. We have no glass ornaments on the tree, no lights. We hope to put some lights around the windows so they show outside. But we are too lazy to climb up on the roof and put lights up outside this year.
All of our fragile items are out of dog reach. And all our holiday candy too. We don’t want our dogs to get sick!
So have a very Collie Christmas! And don’t dress your collie up in too many baby clothes!
Okay getting into the mood of Squidoo, I also started a Collie Rescue Lens. I am not very savvy with Squidoo yet, so be patient as it is built up over time and includes more information. I don’t think I can possibly list all the collie rescue websites around the country, though, because there are so many. Oh, but I think I forgot the Collie Rescue Foundation, I better get a link to them up soon! I have not been on the internet much in the last three days, been busy with dog training and work. Hopefully I’ll get some time to catch up tomorrow.
Anyway check out the lens if you like!
You know I jest with my "Border Wars" rhetoric, but there is a real war going on with real guns and grenades and casualties, and apparently there are real Border Collies in the middle of that war. Border Collies in Baghdad of all places; who would have thought? One such pup is Charlie and this is his story:One night, while on guard duty with the US Armed Forces in Iraq, Sgt. Watson’s squadron returned from patrol with a new buddy. Weak, malnourished, and at death’s door, a black and white puppy had decided to adopt the soldiers of the unit known as Charlie Company. Sgt. Watson wrapped the shivering puppy in a blanket, gave it some clean water, a portion of his own rations, and provided what refuge and comfort he could for a poor life he expected would sadly end in a few days – another innocent life cut short in a harsh and unforgiving environment. But the puppy rallied back, thriving on the care, attention and affection of Sgt. Watson and the members of his platoon. A real survivor

well Tony is staying with a friend this week and my husband tells me it’s quieter with only four dogs at the house for him to watch, since my two regular boys are down here with me in Nevada. He is taking them for walks and they are all doing well. He is even leaving Tatum out at night… which I don’t do, because she tends to walk on other dogs and if she walks on Lucy then there might be some problems.
We’ve gotten a call on Bianca, a family in Idaho. North of Boise. I need to find someone to do a home check up there. Anyone know any rescue folk in the Boise area? It sounds like a very good home. Boise is a bit far for me to go in a weekend! I just need to retire…
Maybe using an unlocked phone would help for contacts.
Kevin has shown his great doggie character in the way he has recovered from his attack last week. At the time, Kev did his best to defend himself and the moment I got the Staffie to pull away, Kev ran back towards the house - he never shows aggression! Obviously at the vet's he was in a lot of pain, and they had to sedate him to clean the wound and decide how to treat him. When the vets rang me

Border Collies are known for their gravity defying leaps and spins on the frisbee field, and on occasion a spectacular crash and roll. But New Mexico Border Collie Jade and his owner Jim Grainger bring a whole new meaning to crash landing:A Taos man and his dog walked away from his fiery aircraft Sunday morning (Sept. 30) after he “controlled-crashed” about a mile short of the Taos Municipal Airport runway. Jim Grainger told The Taos News that he got up to about 8,000 feet altitude just over the Rio Grande Gorge, when finger-sized flames started coming out of the console in front of him. “Fuel ignited in the turbo, burned up the engine, then the plane,” he said after arriving back at the airport tarmac. “The engine ran out of fuel.” Grainger and his Border Collie Jade scrambled clear of the aircraft as it slid to a stop on the sage south of the runway, and they managed to get luggage out of the front and save his passport. “I lost my billfold, glasses and cell phone,” h
Kev has been unwell this week after being attacked by a Staffordshire Bull Terrier. Firstly I want to say that he is recovering well, although at the time I did not know if he would come away alive. The dog just came running out of a house as we were walking by in the street, (where Kev's Nan lives) and I tried to get Kevin away but it caught us up and attacked Kevin, pulling him away
Sally Hull writes a poignant piece where she interviews condemned pets at the pound. One of them is a Border Collie named Popper and this is her interview:The kennel next to Pete's held a very young looking dog. Pure Border Collie by my guess. He stood on his hind legs, looking at me through the gate."Hello. My name's Popper. He tilted his head. "Are you here to take me home?""No, I'm sorry," I replied. "But I would like to talk with you." "Sure. What would you like to talk about?""Popper, how did you come to be in this place?" I asked.Popper dropped down from the gate, with a perplexed look on his face. He walked to the back of the kennel, then back to the front. I noticed he had one blue eye, and one brown. He was quite beautiful. His black and white coat was shiny and thick."I am not certain WHY I am here. I think maybe my family will come back for me. They bought me when I was only 6 weeks old. I remember they said how intelligent Border Collies are, and how it would be so easy
BORDER COLLIE SOLILOQUYby Baxter BlackJust a word about one of the greatest genetic creations on the face of thisearth . . . the border collie.Faster than a speeding bullet. More powerful than a locomotive. Ableto leap tall fences in a single bound. The dog that all sheep talk about but never want to meet. The fur thatlegends are made of. Makes coyotes cringe, sheep trip the light fantasticand eagles soar somewhere else.Invested with the energy of a litter of puppies, the work ethic of a boatperson and the loyalty of Lassie, they ply their trade on sagebrush flats, grassy fields and precipitous peaks from sea to shining sea.“Away to me!” I command. They streak and sail, zipping like pucks onthe ice. Black and white hummingbirds, in out, up down, come by.Sheep. With head up, one eye cocked over their shoulder asking directions. To the gate through the race. Mighty dog moves behind the bunchlike a towboat pushing barges around a bend. And heart. Do they try? “Just let me at’em, Dad!

The most personal border war for me, and the reason this blog is so cleverly named border wars is the battle over the future of the pure bred Border Collie. Although Border Collies have been in my family for decades and there have been Border Collies at my side for most of my twenty-six years, it has only been in the last two years that I have been on the front lines of the Border Collie war, drawn into the conflict when I began my search for a new Border Collie puppy.I found two wonderful dogs, but I also found a bitter and nasty war of ideals and philosophy, rank with dogma, poor logic, and even worse breeding practices. As with most wars, both sides have blood on their hands and both reek of hypocrisy and the shit they've been slinging at the other side. Despite my fondness for vicious personal attacks and heated debate, I didn't expect to find them while looking intently for a cute bundle of fur that would be my next faithful friend. You'll hear a lot about the two dogs I found i
Collies all over the USA need help finding homes. There is a wonderful, new, organization out there which is helping collies, and collie rescues, when they need aid.
It’s called the Collie Rescue Foundation. Utah Collie Rescue has not yet joined up, but we are planning to do so soon and will be contacting them to find out what we need to do.
So check out the Collie Rescue Foundation website for more information!

So! We went to a day of ASCA agility today. It was a lot of fun. We just did it for fun and training, and only today, and only a few of the runs. I wanted to give Levi fun runs with no weaves, and I wanted to see how Chase’s training has been going. This video probably won’t be available for a half our or so as YouTube gets it going. But I have the insertion code so I thought I’d put it in.
Anyway, Levi Q’d 3 out of 3 runs. One elite jumpers (this video) and two open gamblers. Which means, I think, he can move to elite gamblers next time. He is such a good boy, moved fast, and had fun.
Chase did a great job, too. He paid attention, he got all his contacts, and we worked well together. I was very pleased. We’ll see how we do at training class next time and see how much of his brain he looses again. Hopefully not much. Both his runs were good and his second wasn’t any more wild than the first. I’ll get his videos uploaded later… his is on
The wonderful accountant who has donated so much of her time and energy to us informed me today that she sent out the application to the IRS for our 501(c)(3) status! I am very excited indeed! So hopefully in 100 days or less we will officially be a non-profit organization.
*Celebration!*
So if we ever have too many dogs and need to move, we’ll have to contact a realtor to find us a better place to live!
We got this most wonderful girl in on Monday. We’ve already fallen in love with her, of course. Her name is Jessi and she is from the Ogden Shelter.
If you click on her image you will see a bigger picture of her. I have been so busy I haven’t been able to get more pictures of her. My laptop died recently and we all know how long it takes to reset up a new laptop. Ugh. But anyway, Jessi was picked up as a stray, and her people came by… but then never came back with the funds to take her home. So the Odgen Shelter called us on Saturday to see if we could take her, as she was scheduled to be euthanized… ugh, today.
We think she is more German Shepherd than collie. Her body shape reflects a shepherd. Her personality can be collie, though. She is sweet as a bug, loving, snuggles in bed with her foster Mom. She eats so slow her foster brothers and sisters want to take her food away, but foster Mom doesn’t let them. She is a bit skinny but we will fatten her
Houston Collie Rescue is in desparate need of help. As you can see from the below quote, they have gotten many collies from a seizure. They need foster homes and donations. We have offered to take a couple of the collies here, but transportation in the hot summer can be difficult.
If you can help in any way please visit:

By now some may be aware of the 51 collie seizure of dogs belonging to
Elaine Kmiec from Tomball Texas. It is our understanding that ALL her
dogs were seized and then voluntarily signed over to avoid prosecution.
These animals have been tagged as Animal Planet, animal Cruelty
investigations. We are posting what facts we currently know but they are
ever changing. As of today HCR has been told that 41 of the collies
will only be released to Houston Collie Rescue. It is believed the other
10 will be adopted out and their success stories will be followed and
aired on Animal Planet. Houston knows the collies are about 5
We are definitely not against taking in collie mixes to find homes for. We received a call from the Ogden Shelter yesterday about taking a collie mix girl. So hopefully we will be getting her tomorrow. Her name is Jessi and she is about 4 years old.
We wish we could do more breeds, but limiting ourselves to collies helps us manage finances and things that we do have to manage, unfortunately.
Finding foster homes is, of course, the most difficult thing. Most people who foster don’t really have fancy homes or use Outer Banks for design, but instead the dog homes are designed around the dogs.
This is Jessi and it looks like she might be coming to stay with us for a while. The Ogden Shelter called us today (us as in Collie Rescue) to see if we could help her out. Since we have room we agreed to take her. She is going to be driven down to us on Monday if all goes well. We wish we could help more dogs, we wish we could help them all. Limiting our rescue to collies just lets us set boundaries, boundaries we wish we didn’t have to set due to limited resources.
Of course I never count 100% on getting dogs until they are in our care. She could get adopted by then. The lady who called me said poor Jessi is getting depressed at the shelter. We should find out more information about her on Monday.
Please send some happy thoughts to sweet Jessi, the collie mix who is about 4 years old.
Are you looking for a highly active dog? Or maybe a couch potato dog that doesn’t like to do much but lay on the couch all day? Are you looking at a collie? What activiy level do collies have?
Collies are not couch potato dogs. They like their activity. Of course they are not border collies and do not really like to go all day long, they do like their down time. But for the most part collies enjoy being active. They like to herd, hike, camp, go for walks, and other fun activities. So if you are looking for a collie, you’ll want to consider the collie’s activity level before you adopt.
If you think you need some Miracle burn for yourself, maybe getting up and walking would be better!
He he, collies bark, which is no surprise. Levi is my most vocal dog. He is a sweetie with a ton of personality. This is a little video, just under a minute long, of him barking because he wants some dried chicken treats I just put up on the shelf behind the couch.
He will do this for hours. Even if we are not home and there is something really good on the fridge, he will bark and bark, saying he wants some! I have seen him do it on the web cam.
Goofball, I love my boy.
Well I posted this over on my other blog, but I had to put it here too because it’s dog related. I have a new tattoo on my upper left thigh. I have another tattoo, a sun, on my left ankle. But when someone gave me the idea to have this smooth collie image tattooed, I had to jump on it. I don’t know why I didn’t think of this myself.
I didn’t draw this image, the guy over at Smooth Collies.net did so, and isn’t he talented? I have a sweatshirt and a T-Shirt with the image, too. the tattoo artists put Levi’s name in the image. I love it. It’s high enough to hide at work under skirts, and hopefully low enough to show under shorts. For now I’m careful with it and keeping it clean, dry, and lubricated so it heals.
I love it!

Well, I’m excited. And since other people are posting their blogging earnings on their blogs, I thought I would do the same thing.
As you know, I’m blogging for collie rescue. Utah Collie Rescue, Inc., to be more exact. All my earnings go to PayPal, and from there transfered into the Utah Collie Rescue checking account. The collies need all the help they can get!
So today I figured out how much I made for collie rescue in May 2007. I am happy to say my total earnings were $194.65.
And here is a breakdown:
Bloggingads: $3.00
Blog to Profit: 47.94 (paypal takes a fee, not sure why)
Bloggerwave: $18.92 (paypal takes a fee from here too)
Creamaid: $1.00
Ebay Sales from Donated Items: $13.28
PayPerPost: $105.51
Blogitive: $5.00
To total the above $194.65.
And this also started on May 11th, not the first. Because this domain name was too young to start earning. And we just got our PR of 3, so hopefully that’ll help June too!
Yay! I’m happy to give this to the coll
I am keeping very busy with my blog lately since Mum found a new site that pays good bloggers, including dogs with blogs. It is called Bloggerwave and we sent my blog details in for approval. We went out for a walk and when we came back I found that my blog had already been accepted. They obviously recognise a good blog when they see one, so here I am blogging again. This is another useful
Oooo I love collie agility. I don’t see many collies in agility, so here is my boy, Levi. We got this at the Belgian Malinois National Specialty (as you can see by the bottom of the picture) that was here in Utah a week ago.
I LOVE this photographer. Dog House Arts. Amazing pictures. I have another collage at home that I’m not sure what to do with yet. I probably shouldn’t post this so be nice and don’t copy and sell it. But I figure it’s my boy, I have to share!

I love bumper stickers and I am always looking for places I can get them made up for Utah Dogs, and for Utah Collie Rescue, Inc. I really want to spread the word. I have some Utah Dogs one, but I don’t have any Utah Collie Rescue ones, and I’d love to have some.
I want some cool bumper stickers that I can sell for a fund raiser for Utah Collie Rescue. I wonder if they would sell at all. I sometimes don’t have much luck selling things. But then again, I was donated some things to sell for collie rescue, and those have been working out rather well. So maybe these would be good, too. And they don’t have to be Utah specific, they could just be collie specific and I could resell them on the internet.
And these guys do unlimited colors for one price. So many places want more money for more colors. I wonder if reselling them is acceptable.

Here is a short video that Mum took last night. I think they are getting even more crazy than ever, they enjoy watching me snarl! It gets worse - Mum thinks it is really funny if I nip Dad's nose. What would she do if I actually bit it off? We uploaded it to my page, Kevin the Collie at MySpace but you can watch it here.
Well, of course when it rains it pours. Looks like we will be getting a couple collies into rescue this week. Today I should be getting a rough sable boy named Skinny, from a lady being deployed to Iraq. He is about 5 years old.
Tomorrow I’m getting an owner surrender rough sable boy named Sam who is 8 years old.
Chase and Levi will be upset. I’m looking into a foster home for one of them. I hope my husband isn’t too upset.

This is where I write my words of dog wisdom for my blog. Dogs with blogs have to find a way of working with the keyboard and mouse, this is how I do it. Whenever the muse takes me I sit down behind the laptop, and preferably under the coffee table, and after a few barks or grunts I give Mum the idea of what I want to say on the blog, then it appears in writing. It's hard work but a dog has to make a living, you know.

We got a great surprise when we got home last night. Ben Wilson came round to the house and painted my picture yesterday. It is right outside the front door, next to the tree. Every time I go for a walk I will see my Kevin the Collie picture, complete with a sausage border! Here is a photo of my picture, see what you think.

We are so excited - we finally met the famous local artist, Ben Wilson - aka the Chewing Gum Man. Ben paints tiny works in the streets around north London, using those blobs of old chewing gum as a canvas for the painting. You can see him at work in the picture, we introduced him and Mum said we admired the painting outside Dad's house, then she asked if he'd like to add a portrait of Kevin the Collie to his portfolio. Ben said he'd love to paint my picture, and took a reference photo of me. I can't wait: we asked for my picture to have a border of sausages - very appropriate!
I am such a lucky boy - I just finished the meat from my Doggy Bag, on Tuesday. Mum was given the stuff on Saturday and she has made stock from all the turkey bones. When she wants me to drink more water she puts some of the stock into my water bowl. When I smell the meat I drink loads of fresh water!!Tags:dogs, weblog, pets, diary, dog food,
Spot, the Border Collie, of the purebred nature, showing his natural talents, watching the horses in which he knows that is all that he is allowed to do. But I do like this pic because he has that intent Border Collie look on. He's quite good at herding the goats as long as he is not distracted by his soccer ball. Please visit http://midwesthorse.blogspot.com/index.html

Hey - Mum found the lead for the camera and uploaded my photos taken at the Black Horse in Climping. I liked this pub very much, it was really dog friendly. When I arrived another dog was with his family while they had lunch. The barman took this nice photo of me and Mum by the antique brick fireplace - she loves stuff like that. And Nan said this confirms that she wants to live here.Tags:dogs, weblog, pets, diary, dog food,
Check out this hot exclusive interview my man & upcoming producer D-Dub snagged with Collie Budz. With his clean-cut image but impressive lyrical flow, Collie Budz is definitely an artist to watch...he's set out to some BIG THINGS! DD- First and foremost I would like to give you congrats on how well the single “Come Around” is doing. That joint is fire!CB- Yeah Man …BlessDD- Who did the production for “Come Around”?CB- That tune was done by a producer right here in New York. We sampled a Berres Hammond song. Actually the band was called The Pow, Berres Hammond was the lead singer it….. ya know. A tune called the “The Last War “DD- Is most of your album outside production or is it you?CB- I record everything my self. Everything that was recorded was recorded by me . I would run from the booth to the board…and what not. A lot of production… We got Black Chiny did some production, and Massive B. Tony Kelly executive produced the album …he’s got a couple of tracks
I have a belated birthday present - it is my very own web domain! I know you can't eat a domain name, so I got some sausages as well. This blog now has its own domain name, www.top-dog-tips.com. No longer am I a mere Blogspot dog blogger, I am now a doggie netrepreneur. Apparently more dogs and their owners will be able to find me if I have my own domain. We are still maintaining our main website, I hope you can take a few minutes to visit as the website is where we write the longer stories on dog diet and ailments.
Heard the song, but never knew who the guy singing it was, song is hot.

<!-- google_ad_section_start(weight=ignore) --> <!-- google_ad_section_end -->Hey! Today is the second anniversary of the day I came home from the rescue centre with my new Mum and Dad. I have had loads of birthday wishes from doggie and human friends all day. It was really sunny this morning so we went to Alexandra Park and Mum was not phased when I got really, really muddy. I met some
I am sorry I have not been to my blog very often lately, I am quite well but we have been fairly busy. Mum stayed at her Mum's twice recently cos they are looking at houses (yawn). The first time we stayed there I was still quite ill so it was a different vet that we visited. The vet said that Kennel Cough can go on for up to three week, even when you take antibiotics, and she was right. I finished my course of Synolux a week ago and I still cough at night and in the morning. Thanks very much to Oscar, Loui, Simba and Onion who have all been checking up on my health. I promise to blog more often this week, we are back for three days before our next seaside trip.Tags:dogs, weblog, pets, diary, dog food,

This is a drawing of a border collie called Murphy. Having grown up with collies I have something of a soft spot for them: When we took the photos of Murphy for me to work from, everyone was trying to get him to look alert and jolly - but he resolutely refused. I think he may have had a point; he looks rather distinguished (as befits a gentleman of advancing years!).
Can you see me? Mum says this photo reminds her of a Snipe, camouflaged in a reedbed (she used to be a bit of a twitcher). My colouring is quite autumnal I suppose: Dad noticed how I was blending in with the fallen leaves and took this with his new phone. The leaves are from London Plane trees, as you probably noticed. They are a nuisance if they are outside your house, but we thought it was
This is a photo of Ariel, a dear departed Tricolour Collie pet who belonged to Ham, the author of one of our favourite London Blogs. He recently featured a picture of another Collie, so I just had to leave a comment. Ham then dropped me a line to tell me about Ariel. Nice how bloggers are so friendly - perhaps one day my picture will be on his blog - I am a famous London dog!

My Blog has been visited by a film star dog called Onion. He left me a message to say he is appearing in a new film that opened on 3 November in London, called 'Scenes of a Sexual Nature'. Do not worry, it is not an X rated movie - Mum would never tolerate that! It is a romantic comedy set on Hampstead Heath, a great dog friendly place that we visit often.
I saw a preview where Onion chases a
I like to keep up with the latest trends as you know, and I need to keep my PR up for my memoirs. So we have set up a myspace page, Kevin the Collie Dog Training Tips. I have found lots of new friends there and I get invited to see some good pics of other dogs having fun. Hope you can have a look at my page.

Mum was worrying that I seemed a bit subdued last week after my visits to the vet's. We had not been far afield and I am still getting used to my new home. My new place to lie is next to the Aga, which is my idea of dog heaven. No surprise if I am a bit quiet - I'm sleeping!
On Friday night we went to the Royal Oak, still the only dog friendly pub in Muswell Hill and a very good pub anyway. I always recognise the route when we walk there, and I get excited. Which dogs would be there? When we arrived I spotted the Schnauzer, another regular, so I went to say hello. I bounded back to Mum and leapt up on to the seat beside her - that will teach her to say I was quiet! She quickly shooed me off, cos I never get on to furniture as a rule. The Yorkshire Terrier arrived soon after and he is always friendly. Then the evening got better as the Landlord came in with his golfing team. Bliss - twenty new people to sniff out. I had great fun mingling, and popping back to reassure Them I
Mum and I are now in Muswell Hill most of the time, so we need to find our favourite new dog walking routes. We like the playing fields that lead to Coldfall Wood, and usually we meet nice dogs there. Today Mum spotted a playful Collie and we walked back to see him. He was a very handsome Blue Merle Collie, called Jumble, after the 'Just William' stories. Mum got excited cos she always wanted to call her first dog Jumble but I already had a name when she got me. Jumble has one blue eye like all the best Blue Merle Collies, but his Mum says he catches snails and takes them in the house - yuk! I draw the line at catching a few flies on a hot summer afternoon. Here is a photo of a Blue Merle - not as good-looking as Jumble, but it shows you what they look like.
