I'm reading haruki murakami again, its one of the nonfiction books that really got stuck to me, i like his way of presenting the stories, brief , direct and deep. I miss my Bf, he's out there somewhere hehe.. (we just talked a while ago), its good to be alone sometimes, u sort out urself, u think about ur present life somehow and get the big the picture. As the art form grows on, the perception of what is "old school" keeps moving up closer and closer. I hear a lot of younger cats saying that the early 90's are now "old school". Besides making me feel older, all that really shows me is that the art form is achieving longevity, which is a good thing. Hip Hop as a culture and art form has been going on thirty plus years now. Thirty loooong years

The New England Patriots did what we all expected them to do, they shopped the number seven pick and sold it to the highest bidder. The highest bidder ended up being the New Orleans Saints, who wanted to ensure they could draft Sedrick Ellis. The trade moved the Patriots down three picks and netted them an additional third round pick (they also gave up their fifth round pick in the deal). After trading the pick, the Patriots went for a position we all expected, but a player nobody expected. First Round Pick: Jerod Mayo, LB, TennesseeI’m not sure anyone had the Patriots selecting Tennessee LB Jerod Mayo. Mayo is a very good player who can play at all three linebacker positions in the 4-3, and projects to an inside linebacker in the 3-4. He was an extremely productive player in college

Day 1 of the World Mobile Congress has dawned under clear skies in Barcelona. The transport system is standing by, the taxi drivers are still pretending not to speak English and the delegates are warming up their presentations. Last night we went to La Rambla. It is a large walkway running through some wonderful areas of Barcelona. The great guys at LG treated us to a fantastic dinner at one of the tourist traps but the ham was the best I have tasted in a very long time. The city seems like a first world country but it has the history and the legacy of an old-world country. PubCon Vegas 2007
Last week Danielle and I headed out to Las Vegas, NV for my very first PubCon convention. During our five day stay, I was able to sit in on nearly twenty five hours worth of sessions, network with some really cool people, and attend two of the best shows that Vegas had to offer. Over the next week, I’ll be posting a rundown of each day. This is Day #1.

Craig Newmark’s morning keynote speech was very inspirational, but It started to run long and I had to head out a little early to get a good seat for the first conference session of the morning.
I ended up sitting in on SEO 101 which turned out to be a big mistake on my part. Though the panel was great, featuring both Bruce Clay and Jill Whalen - I just didn’t learn anything. The whole reason I opted to goto this session was because of this line in the agenda booklet:
Although this is a 101 session do not let that fool you into thinking this is a newbie session.
It was definately a new
Most game companies would be happy if a game reached 1 million in sales during its lifetime. But MGS4 assistant producer Ryan Payton told Reuters that Konami's highly-anticipated sneak-and-destroy title will need to hit that milestone on day one due to high development costs.Payton and Konami are confident in reaching that goal."We're telling our fans that if you want to play Metal Gear Solid 4, you have to buy a PS3," Payton said. "...The PlayStation brand has always been good to us, and we're pretty bullish on the PS3."Despite Konami's confidence, Sony Computer Entertainment America's Peter Dille said that Sony has been anticipating the end of the third-party exclusive. "We understand publishers are needing to recoup their investment," he said. "From our perspective, as long as the games aren't going exclusive to other platforms, PS3 gamers are not actually losing anything."To date, just two PS3 games have broke the million mark.Currently, MGS4 is a third-party exclusive title

I also write about my willingness to embrace new beliefs that offer better results....that offer me the chance to create the world I choose to live in and not be subject to live a life drowning in the default hopes and misplaced dreams of others.I learned that this is a world of action based results. But my experience tells me that this is not correct, because the results I achieved through my actions have at best been mediocre in comparison to the effort I put forth. There are specific situations and circumstances in my life that came about when I followed my heart and my emotions. When I did not adhere to the ideas and beliefs that have been shoved down my throat since childhood,

So today was the beginning of a five day job at a different high school than Friday. I am teaching English and it is mostly juniors and seniors. I met the regular teacher this morning and she was incredibly nice and supportive. Out of all her hours, her first hour was definitely the worst. Apparently, asking kids to stay on task and work on the assignment makes me uptight. One student even told me to shut up when I asked her to be quiet. Four more days of these little devils. Here hardest hour was actually her easiest because the students kept on each other to be good for the sub, which was nice. There is even a teacher who is going to be available for help if I run into problems, which is a nice addition to the workday. And if things get really bad, there is a button that goes directly to the office for help. I hope to handle things on my own but I am not going to afraid to ask for help. So three of her hours are reading the Scarlet Letter. I read it in high school so I at least know
Day one is almost in the books and, well, not much to jump for joy about. I was really looking forward to this and FOX has left me both disappointed and optimistic at the same time.
Disappointed:
The early morning show was just painful. The anchor (whose name escapes me) had all the charisma of a corpse and was just awkward both on the air and interviewing guests. The whole segment seemed choppy and highly unorganized and had me changing the channels back to CNBC. Having Alexis Glick...

The first day of qualifying at Vallelunga went well for the Yamaha Motor Italia WSB Team today, with Corser claiming provisional pole and Haga just behind in third.
The day started off wet and quite cool following overnight rain, with temperatures onl...
After a full day spent at rAge 2007, it has definitely shown improvements on last year's expo. The increase in the size of the LAN from 1200 last year to over 1500 this year has meant the amount of floor space available to exhibitors is actually smaller, but the quality of the exhibits is markedly improved. The strongest evidence of this is the amount of pre-release games that are available to play on the floor. Games like Assassin's Creed, Call of Duty 4, Haze and Guitar Hero III are all set up for anyone to get the feel of. I had to give Guitar Hero III a spin, and well, there's not a lot to say except it's a new Guitar Hero - frikkin' awesome as always. I do prefer the new guitar design for the 360 - it's a little more classic.Microsoft is mainly hyping Halo 3 (obviously), and had an eight player LAN set up for any comer to enjoy. Meanwhile, Quake Wars is all over the place for the PC gamers among us.Being a weekday, the expo was not all that busy today, but it's likely to b
Mostly, anyway. All I've got left for the day is work, which I hope won't be too difficult. I can almost guarantee it's going to be slow the majority of the time. That's always good considering I've already got homework I need to begin working on.I had only two classes today, Japanese and Shakespeare. After seeing how the rest of the class was, in regards to their Japanese, I felt a little better. I'm not the only one who was a little rusty after a summer of next to no study. I did study a little, though not nearly as much as I'd hoped I would. Both classes were your basic, "This is the syllabus. This is how the class works," introduction-type things. Nothing too exciting, at least not yet.I just hope all continues to go well. I hope I can handle everything. From the looks of it, I should have enough down time and homework time as to not be too stressed out, but I guess that's a wait and see sort of deal. You never know with me, that's for sure. Let's all hope Janna can remai

I will be posting a team preview at a later point today, but first I wanted to post some of the stuff that you had emailed us. Art sends us this article on a 70's style Terrible Truck.Kyle from PostGameHeroes.com sends us this very detailed breakdown of the Steelers offensive line performance from Saturday's game against Green Bay.Speaking of the Saturday night, did you ever wonder what this town's kicker does after a game where his lone extra point attempt is blocked? Well, I've never wondered that either, but Doubt About It ran into Skippy and several of his friends and had the rare professional athlete/fan encounter that was pleasant.Art emailed to remind us that the Pirates signed a guy who knows a thing or two about blowing an arm out. Nothing like having a veteran reconstructed arm to teach his ways to the teams younger reconstructed arms.Koz sends in an article that is an interesting theory regarding the recent HR record set by Bonds. Not sure if I buy any of it, but I'll l
This is the first day of the rest of my life. This is the day when it all starts for me. How many times have I said that? How may times have I followed through……………..a lot less times than I have puttered out….dieing down to the humdrum monotonous life I have been leading for the past few years. Monotonous not in terms of most.Major move to fresh city, drunken nights dancing, random boys a screwing, and a partridge in a pear tree (please excuse the contradictory religious reference - but Jews are not known for their catchy holiday tunes, minus the Hanukkah song of course). It started three weeks ago – the unfortunate series of events leading up to me reevaluating the writing I had started in February after a certain incredible concert by the one and only JUSTIN TIMBERLAKE, a man whom I still waiting to receive a present from ……….. in MY box! I had lost touch once again with the inspiration I had discovered watching this man sing his heart out on the piano. I wa
The first day of the event proper kicked off early this morning, with the team having breakfast together in the Surrey Rifle Club at 0730. Not quite bright-eyed and bushy-tailed, but we perked up a bit after breakfast. At that point, the shooters and Marina headed back to their rooms to prepare their kitbags and [...]
