After days of practically no sleep, maybe 3 hours a night if I was lucky, I finally slept the sleep of the dead last night. And boy did I regret it when I woke up. I mentioned last week that our dogs were feeling poorly. They got better after a day or 2, but then it started over again. Except for the little schnauzer, he never gets sick. Until last night. I never heard him whimper… but he crawled over to the steps that go into our bedroom and apparently tried to ask us to take him outside. This is again one of those ads known as "a great use of media". This ad was made in France for IAMS pet food products. What looks a bit weird is that it seems it is taking place in the U.K. (at least looks like the streets of London, comparing the double decker and the black cab). Mom and I took the three mutts (whom we are calling Brownie, Blackie and Brinny, as we've run out of name ideas) to the vet today. They are generally healthy. Emaciated and wormy, yes, and Blackie and Brownie had fevers, but there were no serious illnesses like heartworm or parvo or mange or anything. Since Brinny didn't have a fever, he got his initial shots, but the other two have to get theirs after their fevers go down (they're on antibiotics now). After we took them home I washed them, then we wormed them and gave them their meds and Advantage... I was thoroughly filthy by the time we were finished. I love purses so much. I collected them all through high school and only recently cut down to about 20 bags. I consider myself to be somewhat of a handbag guru.That said, there are some pretty hideous purses out there. One ridiculous example is this "Faithful Friend" tote bag from collectiblestoday.com.I am so against cheesy photo/picture bags, AND people who are overly obsessed with their pets. I actually enjoy cute dogs and know first-hand what it is like to love your pet. Still, I don't feel the need to advertise your love by carrying around a bag that is simply unacceptable to use in public.The purse is customizable with your choice of dog breed, and even comes with a matching doggie charm. Oh my. But I haven't gotten to the worst part yet. The tote actually sells for $80. The same price for a decent fashionable leather purse.My advice? Save your money and buy a couple bags from Target or something. Cheesy purses will never be in style.

By the end of a recent yoga class, many participants were flopped out on their mats, in a position their instructor calls the "upward facing belly pose.'" That's largely because about half the group was about to walk out on four legs: The Seattle/King County Humane Society now offers 40 minute classes of "doggie yoga". Brenda Bryan, who teaches human yoga as well as the new class for both dogs and humans, says the dogs react to the gentle energy in the room. "As we get into it, the dogs all kind of calm down,'' says Bryan, who developed the poses for the class by working with her own two dogs - Gus, a mixed breed, and Honey, a Shar Pei-Boxer mix - and talking to instructors in cities like New York, Los Angeles and Pittsburgh where yoga for dogs and their owners is starting to catch on.

I was driving through our neighborhood and found a sign nailed to a telephone pole. LOST DOG MALE SHORT HAIR BROWN DACHSHUND I called the number and the woman was so happy. She said her other dog has been so depressed. The kids are going to be upset but I warned them that I was going to continue to find his family and that he may not be staying very long. I am such a lucky boy - I just finished the meat from my Doggy Bag, on Tuesday. Mum was given the stuff on Saturday and she has made stock from all the turkey bones. I know that doggie bags are popular over in the US, Mum says they serve big meals there and people often take the food home in a doggie bag. Last night Mum and Nan went to a carvery and they left me in the car because I don't bark as much if I am there. Also they can come out and check that I'm all right during the evening. At the end, Mum asked the Chef if he had any gammon bones for me. He didn't speak much English so she mimed - I'm not sure how! Then he went into the kitchen and emerged with a bag of turkey legs and gammon bones that weighed about 15 pounds. I got really excited when I smelt it, and Mum cut some meat off for me when we got home. She is glad she asked, it is a waste of food that they don't use the turkey legs. I’m going to have to put the dog in rehab. I’m afraid he really does have an addiction problem, and I simply don’t know how to help him at this point. Every time he sees it he just can’t resist. It’s like kryptonite. What is it? Diaper Cream. More specifically, Aquaphor. To date he has chewed up/eaten one big tub, and two medium size tubes of the stuff. You can imagine who lost.I let the hounds out at 5 AM, apparently one of the hens made her way into the dog fence.It was chicken suicide.I thoroughly investigated the crime scene. The only marks on the hens body were four small puncture wounds on the back of it's neck. Sheba snapped it's neck in a two shake motion she has been practicing on her toys since she was a baby. The hen died instantly.Sheba was very proud of herself. She dropped the dead chicken at my feet, head held high, tail a waggen. She was gifting it to me, sharing her meal. Before I share this opinion, let me say that I am a friend of the puppy dog. I have always been around dogs, and I am a fierce supporter of dogs around the world (whatever that means...)However after reading this story today it has me asking an important question.Man Strangles Pit Bull During AttackWhy do people own such beasts? I know that not all dogs attack innocent people, but why would any sane person want an animal in their possession that has the potential of turning and killing you? And is this man freaking awesome or what? He's a 65 year old truck driver, and he wrestled and strangled a pit bull to death!
