You shall give Him the first fruits of your grain, your new wine, and your oil, and the first shearing of your sheepDeuteronomy 18:4 Having moved from First Avenue in New York to farm country and seeing vasts stretches of land for endless miles, my first thought why would anyone in this day and age would want to farm. The average age of the American farmer continues to rise; fewer young people are staying with their family's farming tradition. It seems the only people actually getting into farming these days are retirees looking for a post-retirement hobby (boy, are they in for a surprise) and visionary folks looking to undo the industrialized, dependent food merry go round we're currently on. Well, there are a few folks that just like to grow food you can actually taste. Even more so to

      Garlic Farming
Garlic grows well in clay, alluvial and sandy loam soils. Sandy loam, properly applied with fertilizer, generally produces big, compact and heavy bulbs of good quality. Heavier soils such as clay loam also give profitable yields if they are cultivated and fertilized properly. Garlic requires cool weather during the early stage of growth thus it is best to plant them on the months of October and

A $ 448.5 million investment package will encourage 20,000 farmers in Andalusia to introduce natural predators to control pests, rather than use conventional pesticides. Fish Farming May Drive Wild Salmon to Extinction
On the west coast of Canada, fish parasites from salmon farms are driving wild salmon to extinction. The wild fish could be gone in four years. Tiny parasites called sea lice can infest the skin of adult salmon and can kill juvenile salmon. But juveniles rarely encounter lice naturally in the wild, as the parasites generally stay out at sea with adult fish, while the juveniles hug the coast. But salmon farms in coastal waters swarm with sea lice, exposing juvenile wild salmon to danger. Sea lice have likely already killed more than 80 percent of the salmon in the area.

Organic Beef Farming Takes Hold in Ontario Due to its Benefits
By: Thomas Ahrens Organic farming is not new to Ontario. To a limited degree, it has been practiced for a number of years on small private farms that catered to the needs of a very select group of consumers, who it seems, knew something that the majority did not. Today, people are clearly apprehensive about the quality and the safety of the food they buy, and consumers have the right to be concerned. Every week there is a new report that focuses on some problem in the food industry. Stories of genetically altered food, e-coli outbreaks, and the use of growth hormones have caused many Canadians to re-evaluate the food that they feed their families. In addition, recent media attention focusing on the health of our environment gives consumers another reason to consider purchasing eco-friendly organic food products. Canadians that are worried about their family's health, and the health of the planet, are turning to organically produced food products such as organic beef. Certified Ontario

Why irrigation is important to Banana Farming?
Irrigation is important to banana farming because 80% of banana is water. Without water, it is impossible for this crop to yield the desired production you expected. One of the biggest companies of banana plantation in Mindanao, Philippines, suffered brittle problems due to insufficient water application to the plants. This case was not yet found when there is plenty of rain coming to the area. But when the sunny and hot days come to pass for 2 months in the area where sandy soil is observed, there these brittle problems came out. These cases was caused by insufficient water application to the plants. When you look at the plants, it looks like pale. Sometimes the plants looks healthy but it cannot support the weight of its fruit; the pseudo stem will break even if there are two poles that supported it. The only remedy to this problem is enough rain or installing irrigation system in the area. After it was installed, the problem was solved and brittle case was found no more. What is irrig

      The Future Of Urban Farming?
I have this day dream where I play the lottery and win a huge jackpot. I take a big chunk of my winnings and build a large urban farm in Chicago. This urban farm, aside from giving me more space to play with plants, would serve as a teaching center for inner city kids and adults. I already know where it would go and can picture the buildings designed to look like farm houses and barns, the greenhouse, the fruit tree orchard, and nursery. My urban farm would produce organic produce and ornamentals for the community that surrounds it and create future generations of Chicago residents that are environmentally conscious. While I've been thinking about the use of land on a horizontal plane some forward thinking architects have been thinking vertically. The image above is from an architecture firm by the name of Knafo Klimor and the design is called "Living Steel." Living Steel won the 2nd International Architecture Competition for Sustainable Housing. The concept building was designed to

      New take on wind farming
This is a great new idea that puts a new slant on wind farm. Instead of taking up valuable land or spoiling the coastline with offshore wind farms. These turbines sit over the road and it is the turbulence of the vehicles passing below that drive the turbines around and it is this movement that generates the power. The idea come from a student from Arizona State University, and each turbine would be capable of generating enough power to light up a medium sized apartment, even if the wind speed is only at a low 10 mph. If this took off there are literally thousands of miles freeway that could be used for potential power generation in the future! The Ultimate Gold Farming Spot Guide
TANARISSouthsea Pirates(72,44) There is a Southsea bandit town in eastern Tanaris. The place is called Lost Rigger Cove and you can get there by going through a tunnel. The place is full of level 43-45 pirates who must be very easy to farm on high levels. These guys drop some nice silver, Mageweave and Silk Cloth and also have a good drop tariff for blue/purple items for such a low level mob which make grinding them worthwhile. Chinese Government Using Political Dissidents in Warcraft Gold Farming Operations
Human Rights Watch is protesting the latest in a series of human rights violations committed by the communist Chinese government. They have learned through a series of clandestine reports from behind the Bamboo Curtain that the Chinese are rounding up political dissidents and forcing them to work in gold farming operations in World of Warcraft, with all money earned from the operations going into the coffers of the Chinese military. The government has been quietly rounding up dissidents in recent months in preparations for the 2008 Olympics in Beijing. Silencing politically unsavory individuals is just one part of a larger "Red Washing" campaign being undertaken to improve the communist nation's image on the world stage. Other attention grabbing efforts include shutting down every large industrial operation in the Beijing area months before the games to reduce air pollution.

      465. Bright Idea: Vertical Farming
Pictured on the right are two levels of an imagined circular greenhouse. Build 15 vertical farms with 30 levels each, and you can feed 1 million people, according to the man with the idea, Dickson Despommier. Rooftop solar panels will power 24-hr grow lights; evaporating water is captured for irrigation; since the building requires only a small footprint, build one near a city-center to drastically decrease delivery costs. A 21-level farm is predicted to cost $84 million, with operating costs at $5 mil a year, with a revenue of $18 mil a year. Via Business2.0. *

There is a ledge on each side of this ramp. The mobs you want to target are the groups of trees and the round blue caster things. You can do the larger patrolling trees but they do punt you back so if u screw up youll get punted to the bottom and die. Simply pull a group back to the ramp then hop on either ledge on the side of the ramp near the top. They will run all the way down to the bottom then back up the ledge. If you hop to the middle they will go back to the bottom again then come after you. Then when they start getting near hop to the other ledge. During this time just start casting the second you hop on or off a ledge. Just
