This book appears to be a logical extension for the computer geek fantasy. A future in which the ability to interface with the computer is limited only by your willingness to accept a level of intrusion commensurate with your desire for cyber immersion. It is also a though provoking piece on inclusion or exclusion based on differences. If you saw the premier of Amanda Tapping’s new show Sanctuar

One day Iraq, our post-9/11 trauma and the divisiveness of the Bush years will all be behind us — and America will need, and want, to get its groove back. We will need to find a way to reknit America at home, reconnect America abroad and restore America to its natural place in the global order — as the beacon of progress, hope and inspiration. I have an idea how. It’s called “green.”more

So, she's well versed on the subject of twins.Friedman emphasizes the importance of identity, individuality, uniqueness and separateness for each twin throughout the entire book. Milton Friedman passed away a year ago today. He was a ferocious defend of the American Way.According to Wikipedia's biography:In 1962, in his first major salvo as a public intellectual, Friedman published "Capitalism and Freedom", a major defense of capitalism and critique of the New Deal and the emerging welfare state. The book would eventually sell half a million copies.Friedman served as an economic adviser to Barry Goldwater during his failed 1964 presidential campaign. Like Friedman, Goldwater had come to reject the New Deal and called for a return to economic freedom. This position was extreme in 1964, but gained momentum over the next two decades, finally culminating in the presidency of Ronald Reagan. Friedman's contributions to the defense of our capitalistic system were many. Don't really understand economics? It's all a bunch of mumbo-jumbo? Veteran producer and master of electronic kraut-funk, Burnt Friedman returns for another solo album after his acclaimed collaboration with David Sylvian, Stina Nordentsam and Arve Henriksson on the Nine Horses project. ‘Night Forever’ finds Friedman recruiting a number of vocal contributors, including Australian singer Steve Spacek, Funkstorung collaborator Enik, Berliner Barbara Panther and Daniel Dodd-Ellis. The productions themselves are the real stars here though, Friedman’s multi-layered studio excursions sewing together detailed drum edits, misty horn sections and even the odd burst of strings when needed. There are some very peculiar moments on the album, most of which come on tracks lent vocals by Theo Altenberg, an artist whose roots lie in the Berlin commune scene of the ’70s. He makes a number of appearances on the album, seemingly styling he’s hollered, gruff vocals on a hybrid of Tom Waits and James Brown, resulting in the screeching electro-g

It might have taken Thomas Friedman too long to realize that the Iraq war was a foolish mistake, but at least he is not going to be fooled by claims that the surge has been a success:
There’s only one thing at this stage that would truly impress me, and it is this: proof that there is an Iraq, proof that there is a coalition of Iraqi Shiites, Sunnis and Kurds who share our vision of a unified, multiparty, power-sharing, democratizing Iraq and who are willing to forge a social contract that will allow them to maintain such an Iraq — without U.S. troops.
Because if that is not the case, even if U.S. troops create more pockets of security via the surge, they will have no one to hand these pockets to who can maintain them without us. In other words, the only people who can prove that the surge is working are the Iraqis, and the way they prove that is by showing that violence is down in areas where there are no U.S. troops or where U.S. troops have come and gone.
Because many Americans

Insanity is attempting to do the same thing over and over again, expecting to accomplish a different result; Government policies are no different. Should it not be obvious to everyone that not a single government controlled economic policy accomplishes its intended purpose? From Social Security to the minimum wage, all these programs hurt the poorest members in our society. These programs force businesses to discriminate against the people with the least valuable skills.I am amazed that liberals refuse to realize this. You would think the entire Democrat party is made up of people who failed Economics and majored in sociology. Either that or the Democrat Party’s only goal is to stay in power by promising to end poverty while knowingly exacerbating the problem. If we were to base policies by what is actually accomplished, nobody in their right mind would vote for Big Government. What is worse is that we used to have citizens who not only supported liberty and free enterprise, but who

Milton Friedman: 1912-2006
By Edward Hudgins
Nobel Prize-winning economist Milton Friedman passed away on November 16, 2006 at the age of 94. Friedman was one of the most influential economists in the twentieth century and probably the most famous one advocating free markets, thanks in large part to his TV series and accompanying book “Free to Choose.”
Friedman was the brightest light in the Chicago school of economics, which also included Nobel Laureate George Stigler. Friedman was best known in economics for his theory of monetarism. This approach challenged the Keynesian theory that promoted the efficacy of manipulating the money supply to bring about positive economic result. Friedman believed in keeping a stable money supply and avoiding inflation. His insights gained currency in the 1970s as government attempts to deal with both unemployment and rising prices through Keynesian methods produced the worst of all worlds, “stagflation,” that is, high une
George Bush, Dick Cheney and Don Rumsfeld think youÂ’re stupid. Yes, they do.
They think they can take a mangled quip about President Bush and Iraq by John Kerry — a man who is not even running for office but who, unlike Mr. Bush and Mr. Cheney, never ran away from combat service — and get you to vote against all Democrats in this election.
Every time you hear Mr. Bush or Mr. Cheney lash out against Mr. Kerry, I hope you will say to yourself, “They must think I’m stupid.” Because they surely do.
They think that they can get you to overlook all of the Bush teamÂ’s real and deadly insults to the U.S. military over the past six years by hyping and exaggerating Mr. KerryÂ’s mangled gibe at the president.
Friedman then goes on to point out the many ways that the Bush administration's has been far more injurious and insulting (sending them into combat without enough men, equipment, and a coherent postwar plan for political reconstruction) than anything Kerry could have said. I wan

Once again, New York Times columnist Tom Friedman has addressed automotive issues. This time, Friedman weighs-in on the ultra-cheap car being posited for the rapidly-growing Indian market. The gist of Friedman’s proposal: tax the stuffing out of the cheap car and put the money into mass-transit. Like most of Friedman’s auto-related rants, this one combines a handful of valid points, a couple of keen observations, a soupcon of knee-jerk utopianism and enough muddled thinking to make it impossible to support his views.
