Reverting back to a trio, Gallagher toughens up his sound and blazes through some robust blues rockers like "Last of the Independents," "Shadow Play," and "Brute Force & Ignorance" (one of his best hard rock riffs) with nervy energy. Gallagher's swampy side emerges on "Cloak & Dagger," another song that explores his fascination with B-movie gumshoes, a common theme for the Irish blues-rocker. His guitar work is typically excellent throughout, especially on "Overnight Bag," as he overdubs himself on acoustic. The band's official site has set the record straight, claiming the stories are "a little wide off the mark". The statement says Noel will not be playing Glastonbury, and the band will be writing and working on new songs this summer.

I did not like The Signature Room Grille closing its doors in Channelside the other year.  Its main restaurant in Chicago at the 95th floor offered panoramic views of the skyline, which happens to be the spot where I had proposed to my wife.  The Channelside was a great location for us to celebrate, having saved extra cash for an air fare to Chicago.  But I am happy that another steak house is taking its place in Channelside.  Another transplant from up north, this time from New York, Gallagher’s Steak House is yet another high end steak house for the Tampa Bay area.  Gallagher’s is known for its 21-day dry-aged steaks and extensive bar.  We’ll be making reservations soon.

Oasis are releasing a greatest-hits album, Stop The Clocks, later this month, and to celebrate, the band's Noel Gallagher and Gem played a special Los Angeles concert on Thursday, November 9, for listeners of local radio station Indie 103.1 FM.
