Enter a service that delivers your feed updates to you via instant messenger, namely Feed Crier. For the sites you regularly visit anyways, this is a huge time saver as you’ll get alerted via IM for any blog updates.
The point here is to make sure you only add your favourite feeds though, because you’ll get overloaded with IM pings with the mass of feeds you’ve already subscribed to. Google talkok. so I got this yesterday and spent some time on it talking to someone. Here's my opinion on it....It's aight! nah, the call opinion is cool and that's what I've spent most of the time on. It does cut off sometimes for no reason. It sometimes wont let me talk back to the person. Maybe that's because I'm on dial-up...I've not figured that out yet. That gets very annoying cause I end up talking to myself. It's really basic and it also doesnt tell you when someone has come online. Granted, at the moment, I only have 2 people on my list (I'm popular) but I'd like to know when a contact has either gone offline or come online. I don't feel like I'm asking for much. It also wont let you change backgrounds, font colour (that I know of), doesnt have emoticons and you cant have a display picture like on msn and yahoo and as far as I can tell, it doesnt log convos...the sounds are cool though and I dont mind them.
