You know what Isabel likes most? She likes to decorate herself and make herself looks beautiful. Whatever things given to her, she’ll put on her head or face.
If her hands are wet, she’ll put whatever it is - water/ oil/ soup/ soap/ cream/ etc on her face and say “apply…”, imitating adults on our cosmetics etc.
Potty is put in her head like a hat, but given a real hat she’ll take it away.
One morning, she took her towel and put around her head, very funny.
And she likes to cover her face with her hair and giggle from inside, as if we can’t see her!
These 2 weeks I’ve been dealing with 2 sick kids. Ian got fever, cough and running nose first. His started last Wed, fever came and went off, repeatedly till Sunday, until now still having some cough.
Isabel’s started since Saturday, fever came and went off till Wed - exactly the same pattern like Ian. Her cough is worse and she refused to eat due to phlegm. As our doctor is on vacation till next week, we had no choice but to see another doc, a paediatrician.
This doctor is new to us. He seems very good. Carefully examined Isabel and told us she has lots of phlegm in the lungs and need nebulizer (inhaling some kind of gas).
I remember the trauma Ian had, the last time we gave him nebulizer. Was quite worried for Isabel, but it turned out she was completely okay. I asked her to breath in and out, she thought it was fun and ‘played’ with it. And she was curious about the room and the toys, so the process was quite a pleasant one.

Just after I wrote about Isabel’s confusing words this morning, she is now able to say “I want” correctly instead of her usual “NAAM”. I seriously don’t know how ‘I want’ can be pronounced as ‘NAAM’…, anyway it is over now. She no longer use ‘naam’. An improvement. That’s why children’s ability can be different one day from another! They amaze you every now and then…
BTW, she has got 3 new teeth today. Have been having only 8 front teeth until 17 month-old! No wonder she is so cranky these few weeks - signs of teething! Great, she might be able to eat more solid food soon.
I went through the older posts, just trying to find out how Ian developed. Somewhat, my impression is that Ian was very smart and able to do a lot of things which Isabel still cannot. I had the impression that Ian able to say a lot of words already…
But, impression is just IMPRESSION. They are not right!
After going through the older posts, I realized that Ian actually was slower at speech! My two children develop differently. Ian has a very strong character and very shy. He won’t use a word until he is sure he can pronounce it correctly, coz he is afraid of being laugh.
Well, we do laugh at our children for funny words, don’t we? We laugh because they are so adorable when they say them, but we don’t realize that it hurts (I guess)!

"Pobrecita, me da mucha pena", dijo David Bisbal cuando le preguntaron en Puerto Rico por Isabel Pantoja (vaya mezcla, por Dios).
Ay, David, que sabemos que eres todo un caballero y que tus fans te adoran, entre otras muchas razones, porque eres un chico noble y considerado con tus compañeros de profesión. Entendemos que apoyes a Isabel Pantoja porque tú eres así de buenazo, andaluz como ella y comprendemos que la tonadillera está siendo acosada hasta la saciedad (estamos hartos de oír noticias sobre Isabel Pantoja, la verdad).
Pero David, no te mezcles en ese tipo de noticias tan "casposas", porque ya se sabe que la prensa rosa en España no es muy glamurosa que digamos (excepto la revista Cuore y no lo digo sólo porque sean amigos de esta web) y todo lo concerniente a la Pantoja, la verdad, quita las ganas de ver la televisión.
Así que valoramos que le pidas a los medios que se la respete un poco más,
Isabel loves to greet people. She says ‘hi!’ to anyone that she meets, and she is happiest to say ‘bye’. But it doesn’t mean that she is not afraid of strangers - anyone finds her cute and come near to her, she can cry awfully!
She sometimes says hi to people without us expecting her to do so. For example when we are buying things from the supermarket, she’ll hi-hi to other shoppers who busily walked by. So, a lot of the people that she hi-hi to cannot see her, and of course without any response.
I wonder how much longer she’ll continue doing this, as there is no response from others? There will be one point that she finds this boring, as others never respond. Hope that will not turn her into Ian-like person.
Ya, Ian, on the other hand, doesn’t like to greet people. I have to always remind him before we arrive at places that I expect him to greet. With that also, I have challenge to make him greet ALL the people. He’d greet
Isabel has two big eyes, can easily charm people to her. On Sunday, when we were at the Cyberjaya Lake Garden children’s playground, there were some middle east ladies couldn’t resist Isabel’s charm. They came to take photo with her and even kissed her a few times (though Isabel finally cried in fear)!
But then… her big eyes now no longer big!
Yesterday morning when we went to the Wetland to see the Flamingo, she got some nasty insect bites. One was on her eyebrow.
Till last night, she was still okay. But she cried a lot the whole of last night. This morning, I woke up finding Isabel looking at me with one eye ‘closed’.

It is easier teaching Isabel speech, compared to Ian. That’s because she follows my instruction, repeat whatever I teach her. Ian is a bit mischevious and has some characters that he wouldn’t just follow.
It is so fun seeing (or listening) Isabel talks. She is able to say what she wants now, most of the time, although sometimes come with cries.
Sometimes her pronounciation is not clear, can easily confuse us. Last night, she woke up at 2am, telling me “IN-SAI”. I couldn’t understand her. Since she pointed at her head, so I thought her head is itchy, scratched her head and made her angry. She screamed “IN SAI!!!!” many times until she cried in frustrations. I finally breastfed her to calm her and slept after that. I still confuse what is INSAI??
Before bed last night, I asked her to say “Mama, I want nen-nen, please”. She said ‘please’ only.
So, I repeated in parts:

And until yesterday morning, she was still unable to say ‘I Love You’. But when I picked her from my mom’s house last evening, she said ‘I Love You’! Well, to be exact, she said ‘Ah Laff You’. Very closed. Haha, at least she didn’t pronounce it as Ah Fuh Di, like how Ian did.
