A Synergex divulgou que a versão para PC do game de tiro "Lost Planet: Colonies Edition" está previsto para ser lançado no Brasil na segunda quinzena de junho. O preço sugerido é de R$ 79,90.

Now can someone explain to me how it is possible that 10 months after the 360 version hit the shelves the PS3 version looks much much worse?
Take a look at the image above, I think it is pretty clear that the PS3 version is just not as good as the Xbox 360 version. However if you are still not convinced then click here. (Warning not recommended for graphics fans).
Now I know you are just going to say you don’t care about this game anyway, but really it is pathetic that every single PS3 port is the deformed child of it’s Xbox 360 parent. Just when are these developers going to get to grips with the PS3’s architecture?

We all know how will Lost Planet did so will in game sales on the Microsoft Xbox 360 in North America, it seemed only a matter of time before Sony wanted a piece of the action. There have been many rumors that the games were set to make an appearance on the PS3, but as I said they were only rumors.
Well great news all you Lost Planet fans as at the recent London Gamers’ Day event, Capcom announced that the game will indeed be heading towards the Playstation 3 something in 2008. Games Radar has given some details about the game, Lost Planet will support 16-player online over the Playstation Network (PSN), we will also be treated to all the bonus characters from the PC version and extra downloadable content from what we were used to from the Xbox 360 version.

In a sad and strange move by Capcom, Lost Planet PC will be getting a few new things for one of the best shooters this console generation. 360 users will get some free maps (that I have already paid for!). However, I am over the bitterness of me paying for something that is now free, I just kind of wish they would have said it would eventually be a free product (ie Halo 2 maps that I gladly waited instead of paid for.. which I guess isn’t as strong as a business move moneywise in the short term, but long term.. that is debatable). So for you 360 users, this Friday (July 20th): 4 Free Multiplayer Maps! They are really good, Hive Complex and Trial Point are easily two of my favorite maps made for the game, so honestly, check em out. They will also have a patch that addresses online connectivity issues (sometime in July).

The Inuit have 100 words for snow. Well, not exactly. Modern linguist who study the Inuit language have trouble coming up with a list of even a dozen words for snow. So why the long standing misconception? It’s not exactly an insult (unlike calling an Inuit an Eskimo, a local slight meaning ‘eaters of raw flesh’). It’s not that we assume that a culture needs scores of terms to describe their habitat (Did you know that the Polynesians have 100 words for Island?) The answer is that people love to exaggerate. One of the first cultural anthropologist to document the Inuit wrote down that they had four words for snow. The next guy says they have 8 words, and the next guy 16. Pretty soon our grade-school textbooks are telling our children that half of their vocabulary refers to frozen water, Inuit girls never rub noses on the first date, and that there are more pie factories in the Arctic Circle than anywhere else in the world.

Sales and operating income were up at Osaka, Japan-based Capcom for the full year thanks in part to Dead Rising and Lost Planet, but net income declined overall.- next-gen.biz

Mentre ormai si pensava che Lost Planet: Extreme Condition fosse un’ esclusiva per xbox 360, Capcom gela tutti comunicando la notizia ufficiale che nel mese di Giugno sarà rilasciata una versione per PC.
Tra le features rivelate emergono: il supporto per le DirectX10 su Windows Vista e DirectX 9 su Windows XP; una risoluzione di 2560×1600; notevoli miglioramenti grafici.

Lost Planet is disappointing. It's not disappointing because it's a bad game, but because it could've been a great game. It's just frustrating that a bunch of things add up and detract from this game. I don't know where I would put my comments on "Story†and feel that I'll need the room so I will just say it here. The Story in Lost Planet is bad. It's hard to follow, and while it has some cool concepts and enticing plotlines, it is just put together horrendously. There is no character development, or really character introduction, and relationships aren't formed or explained so everything just seems stereotypical or doesn't make sense. **SPOILER ALERT** An example of this is when you capture this NEVEC bad guy named Joe, then become great friends with him, then he betrays you, and then you are friends again.**SPOILERS END** So just know that the story is forgettable. I just recently downloaded the multiplayer demo of Lost Planet. I had already played through the first player demo and was really impressed and liked the gameplay a lot. The multiplayer demo is coming along. I only played a handful of matches, but the graphics and framerate were all top notch. I think I really need more time with the controls and mechanics of the game. I've been playing a lot of Gears of War and it is way different than that game. The biggest thing that stands out is that players are very mobile. You have a grappling hook that can zoom you to whereever it attaches (even the large mechanical VS suits). Players who were owning me were constantly zipping around. The controls are very tricky and are less traditional than most shooters. The VS suits absolutely dominate in multiplayer as well.
