D’Novo Lean Gourmet - New Tulsa Treat
My husband and I went to a new restaurant in Tulsa called D’Novo Lean Gourmet.  The whole point of the restaurant is to provide gourmet food without the calories.  Each meal is supposed to be under 500 calories, which isn’t too bad considering some of the smoothies sold at Jamba Juice have over 1,000 calories. Unschooling In Tulsa Oklahoma
I was reading over at Liberated Learning and found a great article on unschooling in the Tulsa Kids Magazine. unschooling is one of the most misunderstood and misrepresented forms of homeschooling. At least in my experience. Few people understand the theories behind it, and even fewer ar willing to look at it with an open mind. So being a native Okie myself I was pretty proud that an Oklahoma magazine would publish this great article. The first paragraph makes it clear what unschooling can achieve. For a kid who never went to school, Matt Moyer is doing pretty well. Matt is currently a junior at the University of Tulsa on a full academic scholarship (a result of earning a 33 on the ACT) and has already received an offer from TU for a scholarship to complete his master’s degree. His future plans include moving to Washington D.C. so he can pursue a career in computer security with an intelligence agency. “I’ll also finish a Ph.D. in computer science somewhere down the line,” says

      Tulsa's Got It Right
You've heard me say it before: We do a better job in this country of guarding our money than we do our schoolkids. What's worse, we advertise that our schools are "gun-free zones." We might as well stand outside the school yelling to all the nut-case maniacs, "COME 'N' GET 'EM!" That's why I've said, over and over, what nobody else will. It's time to make our kids as safe as we make our air travelers and our gold bars. I mean, every good idea is on the table. And one of them ought...(read more)

Tuesday is Tulsa-Tastic and a great day for a Vlog.
A video blog from Tulsa. The trip was lovely, it was a long trek to get to the state and a short stay, but a nice time. Pictures to come shortly. On the way out of Tulsa, we made a stop by ORU, the conservative centerpiece of OK. Here are a couple pictures of huge praying hands, a building that looks like Noah’s Ark, and a prayer tower.
