climbing, statics & dynamics, team building
So I just came back from climbing. I can't remember when was the last time I went climbing, but it was great doing the stuff once again. Catching up with friends, watching others climb, lazing around, talking with 3 NUS Dentistry students about canteen food, talking with NTU Civil Engineering student about statics and dynamics of climbing move, or exchanging sarcasm with other gangs. :PSo I was si

Ten blonde and one brunette climbing on Mount Everest in Nepal
11 women were clinging precariously to a wildly swinging rope suspended from a crumbling outcropping on Mount Everest in Nepal. Ten were blonde, one was a brunette. As a group they decided that one of the party should let go. If that didn't happen the rope would break and everyone would perish. For an agonizing few moments no one volunteered. Finally the brunette gave a truly touching speech sayin

Star Jasmine - A Different Type Of Climbing Plant
The overwhelming majority of climbing plants tend to be rampant and aggressive in their growth habit. They need to be so in the forests where they grow naturally, in order to scramble up towards the light of the forest canopy. This attribute is often welcome in many garden situations, but tends to become problematical in small spaces. The temptation to plant the likes of Bougainvillea, Thunbergia, or Campsis, with their rapid cover and spectacular blooms, can be very great, but many a small plot has been taken over or become an unmanageable tangle as a result. In contrast stands Star Jasmine, (Trachelospermum jasminoides) which is fairly slow growing and not as showy as many of the usual climbers. Often considered a drawback by the unaware, its lethargy in getting started makes it easy to

That isn’t just in the secular world. From the earliest years we instill in our children a sense of always making it to the top. We use top CEO’s as roll models. There is only one place to be: the top. Number two is nothing but the first looser. Or, is it?Luke wrote, “For whosoever exalteth himself shall be abased; and he that humbleth himself shall be exalted” (Luke 14:11). That doesn’t say that being at the top is bad thing; it speaks to the attitude that we have on the way there and when we get there. We can be at the top of the ladder of success and be lower than the person on the bottom rung of the ladder of success.

      Climbing Trees
So here I am celebrating spring on the island. Now it is not such a big deal here as it was in eastern Washington where I grew up. We usually had several inches of snow on the ground when I was growing up and my way of welcoming spring was to put out a lawn chair, strip down to nothing, put on a bikini and take a book out and sit on the lawn chair for 5 minutes and read. What's happened instead, is
