      Save money with Earth-Friendly Diapers
Millions of disposable diapers are dumped into landfills, and they making up around 4% of all solid waste and the third largest consumer item. While most people want to be as environmentally responsible as possible, the prospect of spending hours laundering mountains of cloth diapers is incredibly unappealing to exhausted new mothers, even eco-friendly ones.

She is potty trained now; and there is no need to use a diaper anymore. Last week, I started my daughter on wearing her underpants without a diaper, when she goes to sleep. So far, she hasn’t wet the bed. My secret is that I woke her up in the middle of the night and at 5 o’clock in the morning. That’s It. No More Diapers.
Remember back I thought potty training would be quick and easy? *Ahem*  I think I may have made a mistake.  I think I maybe should have taken the diapers away.  Totally.  Completely.  And just dealt with the messes.  And just brought extra pants with me everywhere I went But I didn’t.  We used diapers for naptimes and [...]

Cloth Diapers versus Disposables - Which to use?
Cloth Diapers versus Disposables Cost For mothers, like me, on a tight budget, cloth diapers are the perfect way to cut costs. Despite having an initial expense, you don’t have to buy them every week like disposables. Cloth Diapers cost over £700 ($1500) less than disposables over the diapering life of one child. On [...]

Cloth Diapers Re-Invented - More Convenient Than Ever!
Honestly, I never thought that the research I did for the writing of our article, The Stink On Disposable Diapers, would have put me on a path of going cloth with my baby girl. Truth be told, I had tried using cloth diapers for 2 days when my baby was more of an infant, [...]

      Information on Cloth Diapers
By: Jane Bear The most important thing when raising a child is to make sure he or she is healthy. It is also very important that the baby should be comfortable, safe, and happy at all times. A way to ensure the baby's comfort is to keep him or her clean. A cloth diaper can help you do the job.Less than thirty years ago, disposable diapers were considered a luxury, so the only option was cotton diapers, which require a ton of laundry work. Nowadays, an increasing number of people use cotton diapers, and people that use these diapers for their babies are considered to be odd. There are several reasons that the parents of today might want to use cotton diapers instead of disposables, and, believe it or not, cloth diapers are starting to make a bit of a comeback. The main reason that one may choose to start using a cloth diaper instead of disposables is the cost. Cloth diapers are much cheaper than disposable diapers; you buy them once and re-use countless times since they are washable.Usi

      Modern Cloth Diapers
By: Bryana Guckin Although both cloth diapers and disposable diapers have their takers, the truth is that modern cloth diapers are as hygienic and as easy to use as disposable diapers. Many modern cloth diapers come equipped with state of the art man made materials such as microfiber toweling (for absorbency), a polyurethane laminate also known as PUL (for a waterproof layer), and soft “stay dry” materials such as microfleece and/or suedecloth. In addition, cloth diapers are far more cost effective when compared to disposable diapers. To better understand the variety of cloth diapers available and which diaper is right for your infant, it is important to understand the differences between a disposable diaper and a cloth diapers. Disposable diapers are usually a composite of more than one manmade materials and are designed for single use, since the diapers are not designed for repeat use they are not made to ‘last’. Recent studies have also shown that the product

      Babies in diapers
Every morning, before I head out on the bicycle road that takes me into town, I pass a small gas stand. Beyond this point my long struggle over the windy fields begins. This morning when I checked the gas sign I saw that the price was considerably higher than usual. It may be too soon to draw any conclusions about this, but it certainly makes me wonder. Some experts say that we will reach peak oil by 2010. Could it be that they have been too modest in their estimates? Has the great surge already started?Nowadays when I see tiny people sitting in supersized SUVs with their cell phones spasticly adducted to their ears I almost laugh out load. The sight is so out of place. They look so ridiculous, especially when seeing them from the side. My favorite SUV right now is the Volvo xc90. It looks like a giant baby with big fat diapers eagerly crawling over the living room floor. When will SUV people catch up with reality and choose other modes of transportation?

      Diapers of Doom
"It's not something you're eating. It's something you're touching every day."So after the rotation diet, the hypoallergenic soaps, and much Tetrasil and anxiety, I think I have nailed it, thanks to the lovely miss L. She got me thinking with her logical take on things. After carefully watching how I used my hands, whaddaya know? All the reddest, most angry spots of eczema on my hands are exactly where I rub my fingers with the Huggies diapers as I put them on.Huggies? I know. The Costco special. We found out about the roots in our pipes by using G Diapers. I used cloth in the G Diaper covers until a bout of bronchitis. And I just haven't gone back to cloth since. So I bought some Seventh Generation, hypoallergenic, clorine-free diapers at Wild Oats yesterday. I have only used Tetrasil twice today, instead of six to eight times. I have no new breakouts. I am newly full of hope. So much so I had ravioli with forbidden tomato sauce (with organic beef, so yummy). I am no itchier for it.

      Pampers Baby Dry Diapers
We have found that Pampers Baby Dry diapers work best! I prefer the Baby Dry to the other Pampers types, such as Cruisers. I tried some of the other major brands and generic store diapers and had some serious diaper disasters, the worst of which were in public places. Like the time when baby's Huggies diaper exploded in the waiting area of a car dealership where my car was being serviced . . . all over a leather couch and my outfit . . . of course I had a change of clothing for baby but not for me! Now we play it (and PAY it) safe with the Pampers. My baby has had only one diaper rash so far, and that was when we used 1 generic wipe! Spending the extra cash on the good diapers has been worth it!RATING: *****

      Cloth Diapers: Questions and Answers
A number of people have written and asked April and I for advice about using cloth diapers. Our friend Angela most recently emailed with some questions, so I asked her if I could include her questions here with April's answers. I hope those of you who are thinking about using cloth diapers will find this useful. Also, if you would like to contribute your own thoughts or experiences or ask a question that isn't answered here, feel free to leave a comment.QUESTIONS ABOUT WASHING CLOTH DIAPERS:Can I wash all the different types of cloth diapers the same way?Washing can be as easy or as difficult as you want to make it. You need to wash them all specially before you use them the first time, based on the manufacturers directions (for example, some three times, some five times, etc.), but once you actually start to use them, you can wash them altogether and all the same way.Can I store all the different types of cloth diapers, including the wraps, the same way once they are soiled? You

      No more Diapers
Before giving birth a lot of moms have a baby shower where, hopefully, she receives cute outfits, soft blankies, baby wash and a ton of diapers. Diapers in all sizes: a pack or two of newborns, a bunch of 1s, and a few 2s should line the floor of her baby-to-be's nursery. Diapers are serious business when baby joins the household. As Nas approached his second birthday I started to stress about

Tushies Diapers, Small (6-14lbs), Case Pack, Four - 40 Count Packs (160 Diapers)
Customer Review: watch out for leaksI like the softness of Tushies and the fact that they don’t use gel. BUT the downside is that these diapers can’t hold as much liquid and you are likely to have leaks up the back and out the sides if you don’t change baby enough. We had numerous problems when in public when our baby was wearing these. We have half a pack left and can only use them at home during the day when baby is going to be changed hourly.Customer Review: bulky and poor absorptionI like the concept behind these diapers but compared to other brands like 7th Generation there is NO comparison. These diapers are almost twice as thick, ill fitting, leak around the leg holes and waistband and are not very absorbent. I chose to go to a more environmentally friendly healthier diaper when I cannot use cloth ones but this one did not meet my expectations because there is just so much waste material that does not soak up the fluids it should. It seems that more waste is b

No other diaper protects against nighttime leaks better. This jumbo package includes 36 size 3 diapers, for babies weighing 16 to 25 pounds.Customer Review: Lifesavers! If we don’t have these our son wakes up soaked in the morning! A great buy!Customer Review: Fantastic! Keeps baby boy dry for 12 hours! As our son started sleeping through the night [yippee!!] we accepted the fact that he woke up a bit wet every morning as an unavoidable given. But then it occured to me that there might be a diaper out there designed for this exact purpose. I looked on Huggies web site and found Huggies Overnites, but I couldn’t find them in any store around, including in Babies r’ us. Amazon has a great diapers plan and, as always, great prices. My son sleeps from 7 to 7; he drinks 8 oz. of milk before going to sleep and 8 more later, i
