Just a short post to let everyone know that you can submit your website or blog to Snap, a search engine that allows you see preview images of search results on a separate viewing panel before you click on them to visit the website. I’ve recently discovered this nifty search engine and was a little amazed to find that Dosh Dosh wasn’t indexed and included in their search results at all. I’ve tried searches for the blog title and URL but nothing came up. I dugg around their website a little, found their site submission form somewhere in their FAQ and submitted Dosh Dosh. This was a few weeks ago and I’ve received around 8 visitors from Snap since. Not outstanding traffic but somewhat expected from a relatively new but fast growing search engine which saw around 12 million searches

I've got some great and useful tips that have been submitted to TipJunkie.com! Thank you Ladies so much - it makes my job a lot easier. {{wink}}Amy over at Kid Daze submitted this great tip idea on how to keep your kids happy with the toys they have. She suggested getting 3 crates and dividing up the toys into the crates. Keep one crate out and the others tucked away in a closet. Then simply rotate the crates so the toys are always fun and "new".That is such a great idea Amy! I do the same sort of thing with the Surprise Box. Simply add a bunch of old toys your child loves but no longer plays with into a bin (not clear). Put it away and only get it out occasionally, for Rainy Days, Babysitters, Sunday, etc.Tip: Add a theme to your Surprise box but adding in only "ABC" related items or "Blue's Clues" items. Etc.This is such the perfect time for a tip like this. As you're making room for new toys, go ahead and sort the old toys. Come spring break - you can get them out and they'll be

I want to thank Stephanie over at Hair Today for submitting her tip on Organizing Little Girl Hair Accessories. This is truly inspiring and easy to keep up!Stephanie purchased an over-the-door shoe holder from Wally's (the cheap one, it is the only one that is see through) and then separated the accessories by color. She then used two baggies, one for the clips and one for the ribbons. Depending on what she's doing with hair that day, she just pulls out the proper baggies and it makes putting them away easier as well.Elastics posed another problem. Stephanie hated rummaging through a huge tote of elastics. Buy them pre-sorted and then put them into a sectioned tackle box did the trick.I want to thank Stephanie for submitting her tip on organizing little girl hair accessories! What a great idea! You can also check out her Hair Blog for pictures of fun hair do's.

Reader Billy M. sent in this great story about his first hand experience with Wade and his ability to down the boggs.
A couple years after I graduated college I was working as a newspaper reporter in southern New Hampshire and moonlighting some nights and weekends as a bartender at the Sheraton Tara Hotel in Newton, MA. For anyone familiar with the area it’s the Sheraton that hangs over the pike at exit 17. I was a displaced Yankees fan from Connecticut and was absolutely psyched when my manager told me the Yankees would be staying in the hotel for their series against the Red Sox. When I thought of the Yankees I thought of Jeter, Bernie, Paul O’Neill, Posada. But much to my disappointment the only Bombers to visit my bar were Graham Lloyd (with a tasty redhead on his arm who was CLEARLY not his wife) and Yankee Legend, Scott Pose. But things changed when Wade Boggs walked in with a couple friends and sat at a table near the door. I walked over and took the group’s o
…to the GeekySpeaky directory? I have. You can definitely find this one over there. I can’t figure out why you wouldn’t submit your site there. Have you seen the rankings of that directory? The alexa rank is under 16,000. That means that there are only 16,000 more popular sites on the internet. The whole internet. You can get a free link there, you just have to do the reciprocal thing where you put their link in your sidebar. You can go the paid route but since the rankings went up the price did too. The featured link with a screenshot went from 10 bucks to 40 bucks. 40 bucks is a small price to pay to have your site featured there on a pr5 directory. Thats the route I went and have never regretted it. I have the featured link over there. If you don’t want to pay 40 bucks you can pay for a 25 buck one. It’s a sweet deal too because your website is up there at the top just without the screenshot. I suggest that if you really want to boost your traffic you
I got really confused one day about my lost entry, that I had no way to submit it anymore because all I could see was that "No Entry Found". So, I started clicking any button to see the submit section...LOL, silly me, and unknowingly pushed the submit blog section and entered my entry url, then when I finished I realized it was the wrong section for submitting my entry. And well, I was stuck, I tried to edit and replace the url with my journal's url, saying on the description that it was a "wrong entry" with the title as "None". But just today, I received an approved notification for it, ah...so I will have to write again to request them to delete such page or url...LOL. I wish they make it easy for bloggers to be able to just delete the sites they don't want to be submitted or included. Provide an easy button, you know, so there's no hassle. Hopefully things will improve in time.
One of the coolest things to me about blogging is how it encourages participation. The ease of adding comments to posts (something that came about with the arrival of blogs in the earlier part of the decade) really spurred the development of what is now called social media. Before blogs, electronic communication could be one-on-one (e-mail), in a Usenet/forum/message board environment (kind of like public e-mail), or as information presented on a static HTML page. People could surf to and view content created by the owner of that particular website, but interaction with said content was minimal at best. The most social forms of interaction (forums and e-mail) did not lend themselves to the creation of rich content, while avenues for rich content did not provide for easy social interaction. The advent of blog commenting (and all of the other Web 2.0 innovations that were to follow) created a new method of communication, allowing for the creation of deep, rich content that could the
John J. Jackson, III from Conservation Force sent me the comments that they filed with the USFWS in regards to the listing of the Polar Bear! The following response is very long but it is a must read! We all need to realize how incredibly important this legislation is in regards to our hunting rights and for the conservation of the Polar Bear! The United States Fish and Wildlife Service is not the agency that should become the regulatory arm for greenhouse gases and increased carbon emissions. It is not in the best interest of the Polar Bear and not in the best interest of the American citizens. Please read the following in its entirety!April 5, 2007Supervisor, United States Fish and Wildlife ServiceMarine Mammals Management Office1011 East Tudor Road, MS 341Anchorage, AK 99503Phone: 907-786-3800RE: Comment in Opposition to the Proposed Rule to List All Polar Bear as Threatened, 72 FR 1064 (January 9, 2007)Dear Sir,This is a comment in opposition to the proposed listing of all p

These are the plans that were submitted on 1/12/07. The dotted lines are the existing walls and roof line. The Dormers are new as is the barn end style roof. One of the back doors will be converted into a window. All this is within the allowed 10% extension, but the dormers and roof alteration could cause concern at the planning office. We've been told the a decision will be made on the 17th of this month.Fingers Crossed
This weekend I was looking up the CEO of the company I want to interview with next week and on a whim, wondered if the CEO would do the same with my name from my resume so I googled myself to see what would come up. I had the normal hits I would expect (work related) but was surprised to see my current boss has been busy. Apparently going behind my back and doing three more of 'my' jobs... jobs I was prepared to do Monday morning as scheduled. The thing that chaps my hide (I've never in my life said that before!!!) is that we discussed these things last week and I had no idea the boss-person was going to do them behind my back.... and without even mentioning to me they were done! You know I try to avoid details about work here lest I find myself dooced... but I can and will share with you that this was the last straw. I was so angry and frustrated with the lack of communication and respect that I swore to myself that had I not already put in my resignation it would be going in
