The Washington Post's in the tank, as they say, for Rashid Khalidi, and put out an incredibly stupid apologia in his favor (Hat tip: Power Line). But Martin Kramer sets the record straight (Hat tip: Hot Air Headlines). Read what Kramer's got to say about this atrocious man.
Like I said, Barack Obama isn't trustworthy if he's going to hang out with people like Khalidi.
I was tidying the house a bit yesterday. Nothing major, or at least not what most others would call major, but for me it was hard work. My legs hurt if I stand for too long, bending does my back in something chronic (I’ve wrecked my back because the leg pains cause me to walk and stand all wrong) and I tire really easily. I hoovered half the rug, sat down; hoovered the other half, sat down;

I'm tired of right wing idiots claiming the Iraq surge was a huge success. 13 months after the surge, we still have 144,000 soldiers in Iraq, and we are still spending $341 million per day. That's $1721 per person, per day, or $3983 every second. Yet somehow the surge was a "giant success." It might have cut down on violence in one city in Iraq, but it hasn't helped anything in the grand scheme of

During a recent gathering with my friends, I saw a big change on Sally. She was a bit over weight, lack of self confidence and always felt unhappy but she looked totally different now! She looked very happy and very confident. Her body looks great in shape too. What happened to her in just a few months time? When I asked her about this, she told me because of her weight problem, she was unhappy an

After listening to White people attacking Sen. Obama for being unqualified to run for President, it isn’t shocking to see that White people have gone ahead and nominated a woman for Vice President, who is completely unqualified for the position. The nomination of Alaskan Governor Sarah Palin immediately reminded that there isn’t an unqualified White woman around who can’t be sold by other Wh

Israeli actions in Lebanon (2006) were based upon military experiences with Palestinians in Israel.
Iraq with its segregated ghettos resembles Israeli tactics on the West Bank.
Georgia didn't work, and was based upon attacking civilian centres which can also resemble Israeli actions.
None of the above worked!
Now the Iranian blockade is no doubt based on Israeli practices and it probably won't w

I emphasized to him how encouraged I was by the reductions in violence in Iraq but also insisted that it is important for us to begin the process of withdrawing U.S. troops, making it clear that we have no interest in permanent bases in Iraq,” Obama said.
In other words the Surge worked.

One article that caught my eye last week while I was out was a piece by Tracy Coenen, on her Fraud Files Blog, about a scam that was uncovered in the Wisconsin prison system. It seems that under the prison's overtime policy, the guards figured out that they could call of sick for their own shift, but then pick up the next shift and collect time-and-a-half for overtime.
It appears that the Wiscon

For the past few years, vacationing as a family was something that took effort, not something terribly relaxing. Between all the packing and the travel stress and the adjusting to everything being different and the daily upsets, being on vacation was like every other day of my life, only warmer. This vacation was different, and it really highlighted all of the ways things have changed as the kids have gotten older. The biggest change for me was losing the constant stress of having to keep an eye on Peanut every single minute. No longer do I have to double check the locks on the doors to keep him inside, or grab his hand and physically keep him at my side, or carry him. He doesn't run away from us anymore, and he listens and responds to verbal instructions. I've talked about this before

I drank and used drugs for many years and to say I needed alcohol rehabilitation was putting it mildly. The problem was I had been in alcohol rehabilitation before and something just didn’t click. As the years went by, I began to hear about holistic alcohol rehabs, which incorporated additional teaching from the holistic world, so I took a look at holistic alcohol rehabilitation programs. I should say, my wife looked at holistic alcohol rehabs. I was too drunk and high most of the time.
When I heard these holistic alcohol rehabilitation programs had holistic services such as meditation, yoga etc. I asdi well at least it is different and went on to holistic alcohol rehab. While I didn’t become serene or able to touch my nose to the floor, I did feel more focused. When I left the

I never seem to amaze myself :-) Yesterday I got my check from my big poker win, promptly deposited it and paid all my regular bills. In between writing the other day and yesterday I came up with things I "need" to spend the money on - you know, like new summer clothes :-) But alas, I did the right thing and paid about $400 in regular monthly bills (some of which aren't even due till April by the way!!), and I'm going to do a HUGE grocery shopping today and buy all sorts of healthy stuff. Oh and let's not forget my treat to us - haircuts! My son is going to the fancy "Snip its" which is that place for kids where you can watch a movie and sit in a really cool chair and get a toy at the end. It costs like $16.00 for the pleasure of getting his hair cut in a fun way, but since I mostly just s

The weekend was crazy, not 2 seconds to sit at the computer.
Busy Girl's basketball team was in a surprise 3 day tournament.
I say "surprise" because the had signed up, been told the entry was never received, and, whad'ya know? There we were on the brackets when they came out.
So, the girls had to get it together and play again even though they've moved onto other sports.
Friday night was comical.
We looked like we had never even played basketball before.
The other team had traveled 3 hours for the tournament, the majority were over 6 feet tall, they had matching warm-ups, and, the parents were all sporting matching sweatshirts that read, "District Champions".
Yeah. We were also without our best player.
Fortunately, that was only a warm-up game, but, we were all ready to stand u

If you've taken a peak in your portfolio this January most of you probably noticed your entire portfolio glowing bright red. We are constantly preached to diversify our investments but if it fails in the "money time" when markets crash what's the use? The answer lies in the following two principles of investment and finance which are crucial to understanding the importance and purpose of diversification:#1 Good diversification lowers a portfolio’s risk level to the market risk level - When it rains everyone gets wetWhen we diversify we essentially spread our investments to lower the total risk of our portfolio. How do we lower the portfolio’s risk? By diversifying our investment and investing fractions of our portfolio in different geographies, industries and more.In so doing we are re

It was a witch hunt. Too much hearsay. Nothing would change. Yep, the naysayers were on the front line when the Mitchell Report came out, quick to dismiss what it had to say and to blast Bud Selig. After all, it was pointless, right? It's starting to look like a success to me.
We have Andy Pettitte to thank for that. His admitting to using HGH changed everything. When he washed the blood from
President Bush and Iraqi Prime Minister Nouri al-Maliki signed a deal on Monday arranging for permanent bases and “investment opportunities” for the Bush Administration in Iraq. In return, Nouri al-Maliki and his government will get protection from the United States military against any threats to Maliki’s power (at least until Bush decides to renege on the deal). The Bush Administration is calling this arrangement an “enduring relationship with a democratic Iraq”. While this imperial arrangement is the exact opposite of what the American taxpayers are demanding, this is a victory for the Bush Administration, which has been quite clear that its intention is to keep our military in Iraq. In reality, this deal is a treaty between President Bush and Prime Minister Maliki. However, because President Bush decided not to call it a treaty and instead a “Declaration of Principles for Friendship and Cooperation”, the Bush Administration is going to use those semantics to circu

Yestorday I over worked myself sick. Today I just woke up feeling horrible. I guess thats what I get for trying to do everything in one day.
I have no clue what the school nurse gave me, but its making me feel half better. I felt like I got hit with a truck this morning, and then given some horrible virus created in some evil scientist’s lab.
Freshmen 101 tip: No matter how much you think you rule the world, your body will be happy to remind you that you need to take care of yourself first. Simple rules, eat, sleep, drink tons of water, don’t stress over the little stuff, etc. College is full of fun, crazy, and new things to do every day, but that doesn’t mean you have to do all of them right away.
Now I am going to crawl back under my covers and engrave this into memory of why I shouldn’t over work myself.
I was quite concerned about the slow traffic and low conversion rate of my website. Well, sometime later I happened to go through the articles put up on the Vertical Warfare. Surprisingly, for me the importance of Website Designing was totally new. As I went through the entire site, it helped me attain a wider view of the merits of website design. Enlightened by the significance I went through the entire content of Vertical Warfare. The rich content gave me huge amount of relevant Internet Marketing. With adequate knowledge about the entire aspect I made a thorough research what can be put into the designing of the page. Again it was the helpful content of Vertical Warfare, which provided me all the significant knowledge. It is then that I got my website designed in completely new manner. Amazingly, the visitors coming into my page increased in leaps and bounds within a span of weeks. Consecutively, this increased the ranking of my page. The articles about Internet Marketing helped me
Not much else to say about that…
Except maybe these things:
1) It’s AMAZING how much more I find I get done when working from home. I don’t know if it is the lack of interruptions, or maybe the feeling that you need to justify yourself and show that you weren’t just slacking off so you work your bum off so that you have a decent amount to show for your day.
2) You get to work from the comfort of your bed!! I love that, a perfect example of this was not today, but last time I worked from home it was a very cold day and the in-laws were ripping up our back decking so that they could lay a new one. I spent most the day under the doona doing my work, anyway there was this one time where I had decided to go to the kitchen to get myself a drink, I must have been working hard. As I walked through the house I was thinking to myself how cold it was, then I came to the glass doors which lead out onto the deck and looked out to see my mother-in-law trying to remove the ol
By Helen HeckerArthritis sufferers today are continually seeking relief from their arthritis pain. I got rid of my arthritis symptoms and arthritis pain years ago by making a change in my diet and lifestyle.Arthritis pain is most usually experienced whenever a stiff or swollen joint is used. Arthritis is usually found in the joints of the fingers, feet, knees, hips, and spine. In osteoarthritis, any one or more of the affected joints can experience a progressive loss of cartilage, which is the slippery material that cushions the ends of bones. The combination of the collagen meshwork and high water content tightly bound by proteoglycans creates a resilient, slippery pad in the joint, which resists the compression between bones during muscle movement. Cartilage is the slippery tissue that coats the ends of the bones. Cartilage contains a high percentage of water and decreases with age.An inflammatory response causes cytokines to gather in injured areas and cause inflammation and damage t
There was a ton of gnashing teeth and sweaty palms after Bernanke refused to lower the Fed Funds rate last week. It would seem he once again made the perfect play.
Rather than cave to the market suffering from a self induced wound, Ben lowered the discount rate for lenders. This allowed those who did not point the gun at themselves when they pulled the trigger to do what was necessary to provide the necessary liquidity. Well, yesterday was the 4th but I had to work. The Laguna Hills Senior Center was hosting their own "Senior Moments" parade and I was in charge of leading them all in the "Stepslide Shuffle". They all had dyed their hair blue for the day and wore handmade red & white overalls. It was really very cute! So, today, my day off...I thought "what do I really want to do?" and the answer was "nothing". So guess what? That's what I did. Nothing. For 8 hours. I tied that new hammock to the back trees, grabbed a book, my guitar, and set about relaxing. Times like today I am so happy I bought that starter house with the yard. I could have gone for the fancy condo in the swinging singles complex but today tells me I made the right decision. I do wish that beady eyed woman from next door would quit peering over the fence at me. She's giving me the creeps! Didn't beehive hairstyles go out in the 60's ? Just wondering. Anyhow, it was so relaxing that I wrote a beautiful song o
[Monday, 11 June, 2007]I had a tough struggle to stay awake and eventually gave up after 2am. I got up at 7.45am and started off with a little work before going to the office. There was a meeting with Elgin and when he called me from his office, which was only steps away, he did not wait for me to confirm with the rest before putting down the phone. It was then I was told that he was usually so rude over the phone. Eugene, Liza, Cherie and I went over for the meeting and I actually knew nothing about the project which we had to do content population on. He sounded that our jobs were simple. We had phototaking session at the new office space. Then, the big group of us had our lunch at PSA for the last lunch with Theresa. It was till this day, I realised why the guys had claimed that the food there was the cheapest of all for there was this Chinese vegetarian rice stall selling two bucks for any three combination of dishes. It was a boring lunch for there was no one entertaining me when I
Spotted this piece of awkward information over at the Fanhouse today. Seems like Julian Tavarez had a back-up plan in case his baseball career didn't work out. While talking to Julian Tavarez the other day about his impoverished upbringing in the Dominican -- he never went to school, sold newspapers, cleaned shoes and helped his dad, a construction worker -- Tavarez sheepishly admitted he had an odd ambition as a kid. If he couldn't be a baseball player, he said, he thought he might have a future as an adult movie star.I don't want to rain on Julian's parade or anything, but he would be to porn what I would be to artistic ballet. It would just be a very ugly and painful thing to watch and I'm pretty sure that plenty of people would have stomach ulcers in the end.
In early 2002 I spent six terrible weeks working at a call-center in Lake City, Florida, which at the time was called ServiceZone. At the time ServiceZone out-sourced to Dell Computers, and provided staff for Dell Product Support, Dell Sales, and Dell Financial Services. I was hired to work for Dell Financial Services. They were six long, terrible weeks. I was shocked at the multitude of
From ABC News:
A legal secretary at one of Washington's most prominent and well-connected law firms, Akin Gump Strauss Hauer & Feld LLP, has been suspended after telling her bosses she secretly worked at night for the escort service run by the so-called D.C. Madam, Jeane Palfrey.
The woman both serviced clients and, at times, helped to run the business, Palfrey told ABC News in an interview to be broadcast on "20/20" Friday.
The firm said it would not make her name public.
According to e-mails the woman sent to Palfrey on her Akin Gump account, she "enjoyed and even missed" the work she did at night for Palfrey, who has been charged by federal prosecutors with running a large scale prostitution ring. more
Obviously she either was being underpaid or was overdue for a promotion to client services.
The good news is that I beat the stuffing out of the market today. The bad news is that I didn't make any money. Sometimes not losing money is a major accomplishment in and of itself and today was certainly one of those days. The reason I was able to break even on the day was due to the fact that I had the second best day trading day of my very brief day trading career, netting 12.8 beers. I had four trades, made money on three and lost a very small amount on the fourth. As I mentioned in the comments section earlier, the first and best day trade was in IAAC which I plunked at $24.82 and sold later for $25.95. I also made money in QLD twice, buying it in the 10:45 and 2:30 bars. Yes, it was a crappy day for the NAZ but it doesn't take a rocket scientist to see at least a little bit of a pattern in QLD. The great buy I missed was QLD's inverse, QID in the 12:45 bar. I should have been watching that one especially given the negative bias of the entire day. I dumped my position in CVP t
There's a lot of speculation that her opening statement is totally fabricated and full of lies. Investigations with neighbors revealed that in fact many of them did in fact know she worked for the CIA. Many attest that she was never a covert CIA operative at all, just an average managerial employee. Her statements about Scooter Libby are very carefully worded to implicate him without saying it directly. I don't know for sure if she was recklessly exposed by the administration for purely political reasons. To be perfectly honest it wouldn't surprise me greatly to hear that was the case. My question though is if she is caught in some bald faced lies will she be treated as harshly as Scooter Libby? ~RJH CNN story link Valerie Plame Wilson: I worked on secret missionsPOSTED: 11:52 a.m. EDT, March 16, 2007 Story Highlights Plame says she worked secretly to get details on Iraq's alleged WMD programs Tells House committee her covert identity was not generally known Says she was shoc
This week has been insane. I can't believe how busy I am with work. Late nights and non-stop action seem to be the norm. We have two major events coming up, accreditation self-study reports and site visits and the list goes on. So no interesting update today. But at least it's Friday.
