Crayola goes back to school with more than just Crayons 2007-08-30 09:57:00 Crayola goes back to school with more than just Crayons: "Crayola has been diversifying for quite some time now. The Crayon maker initially branched out into other art supplies like Activity poster kits, glue and even modeling clay. But now, Crayola is looking beyond the simple joyeous world of coloring and into HiTech tools and toys for kids.Their ‘Total Tools’ line features an Audio ruler, which measures in 1/4″ increments and then recites the distance audibly; a staple free stapler, which punches a student’s paper (up to 5 pages) with a small cut tab into the page that is then folded into the slot; erasable highlighters, and even a replacement for scissors which uses a protected blade to slice in a wide variety curves and angles. You can even run with it.But that’s not all. With the kids electronics market booming, it only makes sense that Crayola would want to get a piece of the tween electronics pie. To that end, they’ve developed a 1.3 MegaPixel Digital Camera for Read more:Crayola
Xexoo does gold iPod nanos as well 2007-09-26 08:43:00 Xexoo does gold iPod
nanos as well: "Xexoo not only indulges your senses with a gold iPod Shuffle, it also caters to those who want more bling in their iPod nanos and iPod Videos as well (not sure if the new iPod Classic has been given the Midas touch treatment yet though). Heck, instead of your standard black or white docking station, why not pick up Xexoo's matching gold docking stations while you're at it? Oh yeah, if your budget permits, do remember to include gold earphones and remote controls as well. After all, investing gurus have always mentioned that gold is a safe haven, so you can always collect a bunch of these as an insurance of sorts against the almighty dollar's plummeting value against other currencies. Samsung's YP-P2 gets unboxed 2007-09-25 11:52:00 Samsung's YP-P2 gets unboxed: "Just days after hitting Amazon, Samsung's YP-P2 is getting a proper unboxing. TheGirl over at YJzone was able to secure the oh-so-slim player and managed to curb that enthusiasm just long enough to snap pictures of the entire opening process. We're sure you're up to speed on the device being discussed, so we'll cut ya loose so you can enjoy the pictures, cool?(Via Engadget.) Read more:Samsung
Jinxing Digital's MP4 Player has swiveling 2MP camera 2007-09-24 10:31:00 Jinxing Digital
's MP4 Player has swiveling 2MP camera: "If you like generic names, you'll love Jinxing Digital's 'MP4 Player,' a 320x240 2.5-inch screen PMP that, unsurprisingly, plays MPEG-4 files. It also features a gimmicky 2-Megapixel camera that can swivel horizontally up to 180 degrees, A/V Out, and an SD/MMC slot. No mention of built-in storage, and it can only manage 5 hours of continuous battery life -- we would say move along, but as this MP4 Player is unlikely to hit these shores, you probably won't have to.(Via Engadget.)

: "Here’s the Korean knock off Shuffle, the faux iPod Shuffle. Everything just looks the same except for the button. Instead of a round clickwheel, it goes octagonal. No words on pricing and availability.(Via 2dayBlog - Technology Journal, New Gadget everyday!.) Read more:Korean
Sound Burger: Portable Record Player 2007-09-23 14:43:00 Sound Burger
: PortableRecord
Player: "Check out this bit of vintage portable audio, yeah CG is all about tech news but this is too cool. The Audio Technica AT-727 Sound Burger is a clamp-like 8″ record player which was apparently developed in response to Sony’s popular Walkman cassette player. The design is pretty neat as the majority of the record is free spinning outside of the player, but don’t expect this to work in your pocket. Or on the train. Or anywhere without a completely stable surface really. It’s cool to see how far we’ve come in terms of technology but really, no cover flow or podcast directory would render this thing pretty useless.Sound Burger: Vintage Portable Turntable(Via CrunchGear.) Spyker switches gears, brands its own electronics 2007-09-23 11:37:00 Spyker switches gears, brands its own electronics
: "Spyker certainly won't go down as the first auto maker to dabble in consumer electronics, but it is making the leap in a big way. Rolling out, er, branding no fewer than three mobiles, five PMPs, and two USB flash drives, Spyker owners / fans now have lots of accessories to spend their wages on that are completely unrelated to their vehicle. Among the devices now available is a four-inch PMP with a rather antiquated design scheme, support for a slew of file formats, a 1.3-megapixel camera, FM tuner, AV input, and a promised boost of 10-horsepower (ahem) for €249 ($348).
