Roswell UFO incident
2008-03-15 14:35:36
The Roswell Incident involved the recovery of materials near Roswell, New Mexico, USA, on July 7, 1947, which has since become the subject of intense speculation, rumor and questioning. There are widely divergent views on what actually happened and passionate debate about what evidence can be believed. The United States military maintains that was recovered was a top-secret research balloon that had crashed. Many UFO proponents believe the wreckage was of a crashed alien craft and that the military covered up the craft's recovery. The incident has turned into a widely-recognized and referred to pop culture phenomenon, and for some, Roswell is synonymous with UFOs. It likely ranks as the most famous alleged UFO incident. UFO Psychology
2008-03-15 12:55:19
The study of UFO claims over the years has led to valuable discoveries about atmospheric phenomena and psychology. In psychology, the study of UFO sightings has revealed information on misinterpretation, perceptual illusions, hallucination and fantasy-prone personality. Many have questioned the reliability of hypnosis in UFO abduction cases.Psychologists point out that almost all UFO-related claims are based solely on eyewitness and anecdotal evidence, which is extremely unreliable. It has further been shown that memory of an event can be unconsciously altered to suit a desired interpretation of what was remembered. (For example, a person who has a supposed UFO sighting may simply be reinterpreting an older memory to fit a desired explanation. Many skeptics believe this is to be the case w

Physicists & UFOs
2008-03-14 07:44:55
Certain physicists, some working for the US Military, others said to be associated with the US Intelligence Community are seriously interested in UFOs as extraterrestrial flying machines. Dr.Jack Sarfatti, in his book "Super Cosmos" (2005), has an extremely detailed "theory" based on the recent discovery of the repulsive anti-gravity field "dark energy" that is accelerating the expansion of the 3D space of our universe. Sarfatti also cites Alcubierre's weightless warp drive without time dilation as essential conditions for "propellantless propulsion" in what Puthoff has called "metric engineering". In his book "The Physics of Star Trek", Lawrence M.Krauss argues that it would be physically impossible to concentrate enough energy in one place to "warp" the fabric of space.According to other

UFO Explanations & Opinions
2008-03-12 19:27:44
An air force study by Battelle Memorial Institute scientists from 1952-1955 of 3200 USAF cases found 22% were unknowns, and with the best cases, 33% remained unsolved. Similarity about 30% of the UFO cases studied by the 1969 USAF Condon Committee were deemed unsolved when reviewed by the American Institute of Aeronautics & Astronautics (AIAA). The official French government UFO scientific study (GEIPAN) from 1976 to 2004 listed about 13% of 5800 cases as very detailed yet still inexplicable (with 46% deemed to have definite or probable explanations and 41% having inadequate information). Despite the remaining unexplained cases in the cited scientific studies above, many skeptics still argue that the general opinion of the mainstream scientific community is that all UFO sightings cou

History of UFO
2008-03-12 19:25:51
Unusual aerial phenomena have been reported throughout history. Some of these phenomena were undoubtedly astronomical in nature: comets, bright meteors, one or more of the five planets which can be seen with the naked eye, planetary conjunctions, or atmospheric optical phenomena such as parhelia & lenticular clouds. Other historical reports seem to defy prosaic explanation, but assessing such accounts is difficult, because the information in a historical document may be insufficient, inaccurate or embellished enough to make an inform evaluation difficult. Whatever their actual cause, such sightings throughout history were often treated as supernatural portents, angels or other religious omens. (Taken from: wikipedia.org)UFO historyalienufo

A UFO is technically "unidentified flying object". Any object that flies and cannot initially be identified as an airplane, helicopter, blimp, balloon, kite or any other object that normally flies is a UFO. UFO is any real or apparent flying object that cannot be identified by the observer, especially those which remain unidentified after the investigation. UFOs have been spotted in many different places around the world. Many tens of thousands of UFO reports have since been made worldwide. But many sightings may yet remain unreported, due to fear of public ridicule because of the social stigmata surrounding the subject of UFOs, and because most nations lack any officially sanctioned authority to receive and evaluate UFO reports. Big Foot Footage
2008-03-09 15:24:02
What do you think about the footage? Was it real? It was a footage produced by patterson who claimed that it was a footage of a "Big Foot", made in 1967. Many people say it was fake and nothing is real other than a man in a suit. If you look slowly, the arms are too long and the structure is different. Perhaps, its an ape that had a genetic mutation & there is no way of not believing it. Whether you believe it or not, its up to you because no one can imitate the movement of the creature.Footage Big Foot footageHoaxie

Big Foot Sightings
2008-03-09 13:41:04
In 1840, protestant missionary Reverend Elkanah Walker recorded myths of hairy giants that were persistent among Native Americans living in Spokane, Washington. The Indians claimed that these giants steal salmon and had a strong smell. In 1870, an account by a California hunter who claimed seeing a sasquatch scattering his campfire remains was printed in the Titusville, Pennsylvania Morning Herald on November 10, 1870. The incident reportedly occurred a year before, in the mountains near Grayson, CA.In 1893, an account by Theodore Roosevelt was published in The Wilderness Hunter. Roosevelt related a story which was told to him by "a beaten old mountain hunter, named Bauman" living in Idaho. Some have suggested similarities to Bigfoot reports. In 1924, Albert Ostman claimed to have been kidna

Tales Of Loch Ness
2008-03-09 11:44:36
Tales of the "Loch Ness Monster" have floated around the world for centuries. Described as a large aquatic animal or a plesiosaur-like creature, the "Loch Ness Monster" (also known as Nessie) has been the subject of numerous amatuer and scientific investigations over the years in an attempt to uncover the truth. It is said to have a long neck with a dinosaur-like head, a humped back, flippers and reptilian dark gray skin. Her estimated length is between 15 and 40 feet, with a weight of up to 2, 500 pounds. It has been touted as an imaginative endeavor to attract tourists to the Inverness area, or as a bona fide lake monster with a variety of corroborating photographs to prove it. However, the legend of the monster is not tak

Big Foot
2008-03-08 06:31:25
Bigfoot, (also known as Sasquatch) is a figure in North American folklore alleged to inhabit remote forests, mainly in the Pacific northwest region of the United States and the Canadian province of British Columbia. In northern Wisconsin, Lakota Indians know the creature by the name Chiye-tanka, a Lakota name for "Big Elder Brother". Bigfoot is sometimes described as a large, hairy bipedal hominoid, and some believe that this animal, or its close relatives, may be found around the world under different regional names, such as the Yeti of Tibet and Nepal, the Yeren of mainland China, and the Yowie of Australia. Bigfoot is one of the more famous examples of cryptozoology, a subject that the scientific community classifies as pseudoscience because of unreliable eyewitness accounts, lack of sc

Until now, people are confused and questioned with the existence of the legendary monster "Loch Ness ". Whether it is exist or not, we don't know. But perhaps, scientists will never give up in finding the animal even though a lot of evidence saying that the animal is only a myth. Many people trying to prove the existence of the legendary Loch Ness through pictures and videos but neither of them seems convincing. As for me, I believe in the Loch Ness monster and who knows one day the animal will come out from its lake...Legend of Loch Nesslegendary lochnessloch ness

The sightings
2008-03-08 06:11:56
The first documented sighting of the Loch Ness monster was said to have taken place in A.D. 565, when St. Columba saw a "water-beast" in the River Ness.Other sightings include Loch Ness farmer Hugh Gray's photograph. Gray had reportedly been out walking, a simple box camera in hand, when he spotted an "object of considerable dimensions, rising two or three feet above the water, dark gray in color with smooth and glistening skin." Gray managed to

Loch Ness
2008-03-08 06:10:55
Loch Ness is situated in northern Scotland, near the town of Inverness, and is considered one of the country's largest lakes (or "lochs"), albeit smaller than it's biggest, Loch Lomond. At twenty-four miles long and one mile at its widest point and up to one thousand feet deep, Loch Ness is part of the Great Glen fault that divides the Highlands from Fort William to Inverness, Scotland. Loch Ness empties into the River Ness, which in turn flows into the North Sea.

Dead mermaid found in the Philippines

I don't know if this is true or not, it was found in Visayas Region,Philippines and caught by fishermen. There is a related tradition of more recent origin, perhaps dating back 1,500 years, which consists of manufacturing fake mermaid carcasses for public display using the body parts of dead monkeys and fish. Strange mermaid found on Malaysian Island
2008-03-28 10:12:18
These image have been circulating vie email, forums and blogs since 2006. They supposedly show a strange mermaid-like creature found washed ashore. This variant claims that the mermaid was found on a Malaysian island. Alternative versions of the message relocate the discovery to other parts of the world. Yet another version of the message claims that the creature is actually of extraterrestrial origin:An alien was found by a fishermen in Teluk Pahang. Newspapers aren't allowed to publish it. Some maybe seen it before. I don't know the percentage of original. Don't ask me what happen to the alien or where is the alien now either. I'm curious to know it as well. Not surprisingly, however, the mermaid is not a real, flesh and blood creature, but instead a sculpture by talented artist, Juan Cab

Feejee fake mermaid
2008-03-27 15:19:00
A replica where they assumed to be "the real mermaid" and I definitely disagree with that because it turned out to be the dried husk of a orangutan's torso and baboon head sewn to a salmon's tail. Dr.griffin was in fact a long-time friend of Barnum's, whose actual name was levi lyman. But that didn't stop people from wanting to see the real mermaid (even after it became public knowledge that it was a fake). Why people continue to be fascinated by the feejee mermaid over a century after it was proven & revealed as a hoax? For me, I do believe in legendary mermaid and maybe it exists long time ago but with those kind of pictures (fake mermaids), its hard for me to believe it because I think they should show more real pictures of mermaid and I guess many people out there do believe in the

Mermaid
2008-03-27 12:31:07
A mermaid is a legendary aquatic creature with the head & torso of human female and the tail of a fish. The male version of a mermaid is called a merman; gender-neutral plurals could be merpeople or merfolk. Various cultures throughout the world have similar figures.Much like sirens, mermaids in stories would sometimes sing to sailors and enchant them ,distracting them from their work and causing them to walk off the deck or cause shipwrecks. Other stories would have them squeeze the life out of drowning men while trying to rescue them. They are also said to take them down to their underwater kingdoms. in Hans Christian Andersen's The Little Mermaid it is said that they forget that humans cannot breathe underwater while others say they drown men out of spite. The Sirens of Greek mytholo

Mermaid: Legend & Myth
2008-03-27 12:29:33
Legends of these half-human, half-fish humanoids have circulated for milennia, even as far back as 5000 BC. It has been widely suggested or implied that manatees or dugongs could be behind the myth of the mermaid. An example supporting this theory would be Christopher Columbus had logged he had seen mermaids on his journey to the new world, but thought they would be more attractive. These large aquatic mammals are notable for the way in which they carry their young, cradled in their arms much as a human would carry a baby. It is possible sailors seeing these unfamiliar beasts for the first time would assume they had in fact stumbled across some sort of humanoid species, and consequently spread their accounts of the sightings through their homelands on their return from voyages. It has even p

Mermaid??

When we talk about fairy tales we tend to think about mermaids and other stories. Since we were kids, we grew up with stories like this and we couldn't get rid of it. But when we grew up, things slowly changed and our believes in those kind of things slowly fade way. Some people still believe on this kind of stories and one of them is me. I do believe mermaids were still exist and lots of stories we heard from old folks saying they had seen one. But stories did not tell everything because we need scientific evidence about this. I wonder what if scientists do a research about this and I guess it will be great if things we heard almost of the time, finally revealed. But I hope one day, we will get real evidence about mermaid and not the fake one!!mermaids, mermaid stories, the little mermaid

Happyaku Bikuni
2008-03-29 10:43:33
One of the most famous folk stories concerning ningyo is called Happyaku Bikuni ("eight-hundred year Buddhist priestess"). The story tells how a fishermen who lived in Wakasa Province once caught an unusual fish. In all his years fishing, he had never seen anything like it, so he invited friends over to sample its meat. One of the guests, however, peeked into the kitchen, noticed that the head of this fish had a human face, and warned the others not to eat it. So when the fisherman finished cooking and offered his guests the ningyo's grilled flesh, they secretly wrapped it in paper and hid it on their persons so that it could be discarded on the way home. But one man, drunk on sake, forgot to throw the strange fish away. This man had a little daughter, who demanded a present when her father

Ningyo
2008-03-29 10:27:17
Ningyo (human fish) often translates as "mermaid", is a fish-like creature from Japanese folklore. Anciently, it was described with a mouth like a monkey's, small teeth like a fish's, shining golden scales, and a quiet voice like a skylark or a flute. Its flesh is pleasant-tasting, and anyone who eats it will attain remarkable longevity. However, catching a ningyo was believed to bring storms and misfortune, so fishermen who caught these creatures were said to throw them back into the sea. A ningyo washed onto the beach was an omen of war or calamity. (Taken from: wikipedia.org)ningyo, mermaid, mermen, little mermaid, ninyo stories, mermaid series

Merman Mythology
2008-03-29 08:18:31
In Greek mythology, mermen were often illustrated to have green seaweed-like hair, a beard and a trident. In Irish mythology, mermen are described as extremely ugly creatures with pointed green teeth, pig-like eyes, green hair and a red nose. In Finnish mythology, a merman (vetehinen) is often potrayed as a magical, powerful, handsome, bearded man with the tail of a fish. He can cure illnesses, lift curses and brew potions, but he can also cause unintended harm by becoming too curious about human life. (Taken from: wikipedia.org)The actions and behavior of mermen can vary wildly depending on the source and time period of the stories. They have been said to sink ships by summoning great storms, but also said to be wise teachers, according to earlier mythology. A merman, like a mermaid, attr
