Afdawn and Directors Dealing 2007-06-06 02:29:00 someone on the forum of my brokerage company asked what impact the expected interest rate hikes will have on the stock price of ADW. He reasoned that due to their exposure to the property market a increase in rates would increase the share price... this is what I awnseredWell, it might go both ways in my opinion, the way I see it is that it will depend on how much of the cost increase caused by the rate hike (they are also affected by it) they can pass on to their clients. And also a rate hike might pose a increase in the risk of clients defaulting or not making payments.Also a question about the recent directors buying was posed..... Mr Grindrod himself sold some preference shares today. I personally aint making much of it. Like I previously stated, this is quite normal after a huge run and would have been a great buying opportunity in my opinion. ZEDER 2007-06-05 05:31:00 Zeder is a good concept, investing in unlisted shares so that investors can enter the South African agricultural sector through the Johannesburg stock exchange. As far as I understand the company wants to gain about a 20% share holding in the companies in its portfolio, a goal that seems to be taking a bit of time to accomplish. as seen from yesterday's announcement this goal is still far ofAn interesting development is the increase Zeder made in its holdings of KWV, a company that holds allot of value in my opinion. Also Zeder increased its stake in pioneer foods which might list in the near future (note might) which would provide allot more liquidity to Zeder's portfolio.The share trades at a premium of about 30c a share which is not all such a bed thing as it shows that the investment community has some faith in managment.
